Today I was in the men’s restroom inside the security area at Oslo Airport and saw “Fuck China”, “Chinese go home” and “Boycott China” written on the walls. Clearly aimed at Chinese tourists, and it makes me angry. Norway is an inclusive and welcoming country towards people who want to visit. This is not the kind of culture we want here!

It’s honestly just incredibly stupid to do something like that. It achieves nothing except spreading bad vibes and giving people a poor impression of us.

Has anyone else seen similar things at the airport or elsewhere?

  1. I used to see hakekors here and there, to the point that I started to carry a few large’ish stickers to smack over them. Not a ideal solution, but it took often a week before they got cleaned off if not, so eh. So be it.

  2. How could you solve such problems?
    Spreading them in the internet?

  3. Random restroom often have some crap written in them.

It’s just idiots who lack impulse control. It will probably be cleaned by staff in a pretty short time. If you notify some staff, it will probably be removed faster.

Hopefully you don’t take much from the arguments of people who write in bathroom stalls, they aren’t the best at life unfortunately.

  4. i’ve started carrying silly stickers in my bag just in case i see hateful stuff like this. i realise stickers aren’t really allowed either but i think they’re much better than incredibly unnecessary hateful messages rooted in misogyny, racism and homophobia etc

  5. Do you get angry over stuff written in public toilets?

Chinese tourists are not the best tourists that Norway receives but there was no need for vandalising an airport toilet.

Multiple incidents live tampling the garden/ house of people in Trømso/ Stavanger A group of people visiting/ training in Norway protesing over something about Taiwan. Driving dangerously on the middle of the road or stopping dangerously to take photos on winter road. A Chinese gradma becoming a nuisense on kids disco floor to take videos of her grandkid crawling on the floor.
