From the Australian experience you have four options ahead of you. Jam the system, leak, quit, or stand complicit.
This idea to send asylum seekers to rwanda sucks. Nazi like op. Get rid of patel and bojo pdq
Why on earth should anyone feel any guilt over this?
If these public servants feel that strongly they can always resign from the cushy well paid roles in protest

>The Home Office’s top civil servant has told thousands of his staff that they will not be breaking the law or guilty of racism if they enforce Priti Patel’s plan to send people with rejected UK asylum claims to Rwanda.
>
>Amid growing anger from the department’s workforce, Matthew Rycroft, the permanent secretary, faced questions at an online staff meeting asking if the home secretary’s policy of giving people a one-way ticket to Kigali was racist, while others demanded to know if the new policy was within international law.
>
>Rycroft told staff they had to implement ministers’ decisions, and reminded them of the civil service’s neutral role, sources said.
>
>The scheduled online meeting was held the day after it emerged that Home Office staff had threatened to strike and had drawn comparisons to working for the Third Reich over Patel’s plan.
>
>One source said Rycroft was “bullish” about the government’s claim that the nationality and borders bill would not have to be passed into law before the policy could be implemented.
>
>Another source said staff still do not know the criteria upon which they would be expected to decide if a recent migrant could be sent to Rwanda, a country which has been heavily criticised for its human rights record.
>
>The source said: “It was clear from the briefing today that the views of staff aren’t being taken into consideration at all. It was a case of, ‘you’re civil servants so you have to get on with it’. There was little reassurance when it came to the ethical and legal concerns that were raised by multiple people in the meeting. And it still was not apparent how decisions on eligibility would be made.

>“The department seems determined to go full throttle, and myself and many other colleagues are deeply worried.”

>Union leaders are meeting staff, and have not ruled out some form of industrial action. …
Let get Pritti Patel behind the desk and phones doing this kind of work and see how she fares….
Oh I forgot she’s a heartless bitch that doesn’t give a shit
The civil service is awash with leftist incompetents, a purge is long overdue.
How about anger, outrage, disgust?? Shame is awfully much like putting a sad face on as you push the button in line with orders. Does no-one have a bloody backbone?
Sadly, Patel herself does not know what shame is and will just tell the staff to quit or they are fired for not doing as she wants. Patel is not going to let this stop her achieving what she may come to see as her Magnum Opus. She will just find staff who will help her.
How well unionised is the home office? If they were to strike would other government departments strike in solidarity? I known DWP and DHSC are well unionised.
Sounds like the civil service are working their hardest to ensure that this plan is implemented with the maximum of diligence.
It cannot be allowed to fail, so a team of subcommittees will be created to examine each aspect to ensure that all refugees are treated fairly.
That should only take about three years?
Well walkout what they gonna do find people who are willing to work in such a toxic environment run by a utter cunt
Maybe they should do their job and leave any challenges to the courts.
Nothing wrong with it, why should they be housed and given money until their asylum claim is processed? That wouldn’t happen if you or I went and claimed asylum somewhere, we’d be put in a camp for god knows how long
Government put refugees and asylum seekers in detention centres here but they were inhumane, high rates of suicide and reports of abuse.
The solution to the problem hasn’t been fixing the abuses and making it less draconian. But moving the detention centres overseas so journalists, human rights lawyers and legal representatives for asylum cases and appeals have a harder time of reporting on abuses. This is a whole way of deporting innocent people faster with less people being able to report abuses or appeal cases. People will be deported and killed back in their home country but no one to track it
What about shame for Windrush? Any outrage from our Home Office staff as they were busy ruining lives of people who had lived here 50+ years? Any utterances forr the utter failure of the Ukrainian visa fiasco? Anything?
