From my research, I understand that we should skip the crowds at the Champs-Élysées and the Trocadéro area and better book a restaurant to celebrate.
So I successfully talked my friends out of it but I am now the one who has to find a restaurant that serves good food and is fun to celebrate. I.e. the restaurant either has something going on for New Year, people go there to not just eat but also hang out for a few drinks, maybe they have live music. My friends are more likely to spend a lot on (good) food, I’d prefer the place to not be too boring or stuck up so we are trying to meet in the middle.
That’s where I need your help because I have no idea where to even start. Do you have a favorite place to celebrate New Year in Paris or generally a suggestion that might fit the bill?
What we’d skip is something that leans too aggressively into the nightclub side of things.
Edit: A jazz club in the Latin Quarter could be interesting. Any ideas in that direction?
FWIW, [Georges](https://restaurantgeorgesparis.com/) was one of my leads but it is fully booked already.
Location wise: my friends are in 8th Arr, me and my wife are in the 3rd Arr.

Maybe the [14 juillet](https://www.le14juillet.fr/) ?
Never spent New year’s eve there, only went to their restaurant a couple of times, but if you can afford it, a view on the eiffel tower http://www.cieldeparis.com/en/exceptional-evenings/new-years-eve.html
