  1. Hilariously enough 90% of your graph is Biden.

I love the part where it leveled off before covid and recently both during Trump.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Why aren’t they using all the tarrif tax revenue to pay down the national debt

  3. US debt to da mooooooon!!!

  4. after lthe tariffs and their effects??we must seriously think about others ways, we must think about it seriously before the big problems

  5. There is absolutely no interest in reducing the national debt.  They literally gave away trillion to the rich and never once considered taxing the 1%, while reducing spending. Did we really need to give ICE all that money? No we did not.
Our government is just out to rape all us hard working folks

  6. And remember…most of these decades social security has been in surplus ..in other words , lots of baby boomers and others paid into SS than the money sent out to retirees!

Now interest in debt is about 1 trillion a year .

  7. Lol where are all the magats who whined about debt under Biden? Oh yeah that’s right when their guy does it, it doesn’t matter. Move goal posts much? Smfh

  8. The lack of fundamental understanding that has come to this sub is cringe….

Think of national debt more like capital expenditure investment as opposed to being late on your car payment running from the repo man

If we see 3 quarters of GDP contraction then you should be worried…

I think of our debt chart like the vix chart… capitalism by design is inflationary by design…. It’s like living in the woods with billions of trees and needing more wood each day to keep your fire going… sure you’re going through wood at an exponential rate but billions of trees is alota fucking wood

  9. Would be nice to see this chart:
    – in real values
    – colour coded by party in power

  10. are you trying to tell us this all started in January ? So very foolish

  11. And it’s only going to get worse, thanks to the BBB and the next administration is gonna be left holding an even worse bag

  12. Can we share the ratio of debt to gdp YoY instead of total in USD? It’s kinda of obvious that over time, the debt will be higher as inflation by design will make the value of a currency to be lower.
