  1. Given the nature of the scheme, how much it will cost will eventually come out. Hopefully given the nature of the scheme it will be scrutinised by the press so that any mistreatment will be identified.

  2. I love the logic of MP’s, the people out there to represent the voice and interest of the people that put them in place, voting to rid themselves of their most essential duty.

You know how fucked our democracy is when our own representatives consistently vote to circumvent democracy.

  3. > “Take back control”, “sovereignty” … “fuck Parliament”

    – Brexiter MPs, apparently …

  4. I’m not really sure there’s an appropriate punishment that fits the crimes of the Tory party.

    Guess we can invent one.

  5. Praying for the day that somebody in the commons just comes out and calls this what it is – a dead cat strategy

  6. Parliament is run by a majority of Tories. Dont like it? Dont vote Tory. but the simple fact is, the majority of the great unwashed in the UK will fully support Hotel Rwanda.

  7. When you have to use only the second ministerial direction in the Home Office in the last 30 years to push an idea past your own department, then are concerned that a parliamentary majority of 70 doesn’t feel like enough clout to push an idea through parliament, and you have Theresa ‘hostile environment’ May saying it’s a bad idea, that’s when you know you have achieved epic stupidity.

  8. I don’t really understand how this is subverting democracy. They have the majority of seats and sorting out brexit and the borders was a big issue they pledged to solve during the election. I could understand if they just narrowly squeezed through with a tiny margin of seats needed to win. They seem to be enacting the will of the people here?

  9. Removing Parliamentary Sovereignty. Leaving this decision down to a handful of Tory MPs most of the country isn’t allowed to vote on. May as well have stayed in the EU.

  10. Another obvious way for the Tories to funnel public funds to whomever they wish without oversight. Blatant corruption once again.

  11. Can we not ask/demand our monarchy just dissolve parliament? Let’s start again, or maybe offer Guy Fawkes some £££.

  12. I am probably a bit unusual but I have been to Rwanda (Kigali, Ruhengeri). You need a lot of vaccinations and a wait period before they become effective. I wonder whether these people get the chance before they are sent there.

  13. Washing their hands of it already.

They already know its gonna blow up in their faces.

Human rights abuses. Mistreatment of refugees. Rapes and other violence.

And our cowardly representatives are making sure their fingerprints aren’t all over the murder weapon.

  14. And what is democracy exactly?
Doing whatever this sub deems “the right thing”
The government has a majority the MPs have spoken. Democracy in action.

  15. These Tories campaigned for brexit they wanted brexit and brexit became real in 2016, but only now do they start the process.

What is Wrong with these people?

  16. These people just live in another world from anything that we are used to. Why should they come down to the level of the people who voted them in.

  17. But what about all the “sovrinty” we were promised. I know it wasn’t on a bus so not reliable but still..sovrinty

Get more sovereignty at Elizabeth Duke /s

Yes I know this was voted on in the HoC
