Irish Times: My boyfriend refuses to help around our home, but says he will step up when we are married

  1. His aul lad has clearly put in the father-son time needed to teach him a few tricks I see, that’s a positive.

  2. Wild to me that shite like “Ask Roe” both still exists and is published in the Irish Times. Who the fuck is reading this.

Edit, can’t read it if I wanted to as it’s paywalled. So better question: Who the fuck is ***paying*** to read this

  3. She should get Creative then, drap a maid outfit and tease him with a feather duster until he agrees to clean and tidy the house.

Teasing and playfulness could go a long way to saving a marriage, on top off incorporating a healthy dose of foreplay into the relationship.

Killing two birds with one stone!

  4. What’s that joke about r/relationship_advice? “My (19f) fiancé (49m) is abusive and the wedding is in an hour. How do I fix him?”

  5. If the “person” who wrote this can’t figure it out for themselves, they are lucky the Irish Times has such a low threshold for content

  6. It took my husband until our 2nd lad in 2008 to start doing stuff in the house , I lost my head with him the eldest was 3 at the time I was working and had new baby, and on top of it eldest is autistic. He did change his ways, 14 years later one more little boy 11 years ago and he’s fantastic around the house. He’s obsessed with the laundry, he’s constantly doing it. I’ve had my share of physical health issues etc so he really stepped up. But he would never say what that guy said I just automatically did everything and didn’t ask until 2008 lol so my own fault there. All my lads have chores to do and the middle guy is actually really good around the house, im making sure they’re well trained when they fly the nest and don’t expect partners to pick up jocks off floor etc for them. ( eldest isn’t able to do a lot but he tries his best and I’m not going to have him not being somewhat independent either).
I think the guy needs a very big ultimatum, she’s not his Mammy

  7. This is like women who won’t have sex before marriage. Do you think she’s gonna be any less strict after you marry her hahahahaha

  8. Don’t understand why people even still get married in this day and age, such a load of bolox that most people are just socially pressured into, like if it didn’t already exist and someone suggested it you’d tell them to go fuck.
