VICTORIA — Expected temperatures of up to 37 C for the coming days have prompted heat warnings for parts of southern B.C. and Vancouver Islands.
The heat warning first issued Saturday applies to the Fraser Canyon, South Thompson, and the South Okanagan, as well as Howe Sound, Whistler, Pemberton, East Vancouver Island, and Inland Vancouver Island.
Environment Canada says temperatures in the Fraser Canyon, South Thompson, and South Okanagan are expected to reach 35 to 37 C today, Monday, and Tuesday, and may continue into Wednesday.
Temperatures for Howe Sound, Whistler, Pemberton, East Vancouver Island, and Inland Vancouver Island are expected to reach or possibly exceed 30 C today and Monday, with maximum temperatures above 30 C likely for Tuesday, followed by a cooling trend Wednesday.
