Brexit checks: Disbelief and confusion at Gibraltar border as Spain blocks British nationals from entering

  1. Bloody traitors should be supporting our traditional local seaside towns. They should have their passports stripped from them.

  2. Pretty standard requirements on entering many countries, including the UK. You have to show you can don’t intend to stay indefinitely and can support yourself. I remember having to go through it all before free travel existed into the EU from the UK. People have simple taken for-granted the ability to just come and go into EU countries. With Brexit, that’s all over and so it’s back to the old rules.

  3. > Spanish authorities are stepping up controls on people from non-EU countries trying to enter the bloc via or from Gibraltar

Wait? So EU countries can indeed control their borders? Who would have thought?

  4. It’s what we voted for when we decided keeping nasty foreigners out was worth losing the convenience of easy travel into/out of Europe.

  5. This was debunked by people who live where, this “report” spawns from ‘The Olive Press’ which is a clickbait paper.

There are legitimate problems with Brexit but this one is a fabrication. By pushing it, you’re undermining your own legitimate arguments and concerns.

  6. I feel bad for the Gibilitrarians, but I can’t stop myself from noticing the implicit racism in assuming that the UK soil must be protected from foreigners entering it, whilst precious British nationals should be able to roam wherever they please – I mean, it’s like the person writing on this rag, err, newspaper doesn’t even sense it in what he’s writing
