    the solution is obviously that every canton acts as its own country again like before 1848 thus having a lower trade deficit than Switzerland, and every canton makes its own “deal”, the cantons with too much exports may need to split up /s

  19. So, the conclusion is that Switzerland has been screwed up for not being in the European Economic Area, whereas Lichtenstein has been “protected” by being a member? How surprising.

  21. The USA is playing the Swiss game. Try importing something from outside Switzerland without paying a hefty fine.

    Anyways those numbers are just a feeling. He is not so happy with Switzerland, the reason is probably personal. Liechtenstein is ordered in another column “no-importance mini countries”.
