This is not the new standard. It is the new standard for heatwaves. Heatwaves are not the standard. We’re fucked, though.
Gijón: 20oC
❤️❤️❤️
Wellcome to the coldest summer on your life
Ironically, there’s not too much wind, so “no está ventusky la cosa.”
Jokes aside, **the problem is not a single heathwave**, no matter how long it is (fifth longest recorded I think I heard on the news), **but the averages on temperature.**
I’m writing this because I’m already seeing *these guys* starting to type “BuT wE’Ve hAD AlWAys HeaTHwavES”, “lAsT yeAR WE haD a Day wiTH 40º”, “¿PerO COme JaMÓN?” (well maybe not the last one, at least with this topic). Yeah, heatwaves are somewhat normal (although they suck), but what it is not normal is that each year we’re hitting new highs on temperature averages (And fuck’s sake, learn how averges work before telling me that in 1976 one summer had higher averages), that summer/spring each year start before, and that we are getting warmer and warmer each year.
Isnt that practically africa & sahara desert climate?
“ThE nEw StAnDaRd” get the fuck out…
Bullshit.
It was 24~26 °C in Italy up until a couple of days ago and, aside from 15 days in June and this week, we’ve been having one of the chilliest summers in years with tons of rainstorms.
I was wearing longsleeve shirts in Sicily last week.
Literally the normal if you are from Seville
Y’all need some AC.
If by new standard you mean how it has ever been (and I’m almost 50), then yes. This Summer is way far from being the hottest I’ve experienced.
