In Transcarpathia, border guards detained a group of men of conscription age who were attempting to illegally cross the Ukrainian–Slovak border. This information is confirmed by data from the State Border Guard Service, obtained during an operational response.

According to the Palad’ Komarivtsi outpost, the video surveillance camera recorded the approach of several groups of unknown individuals to the state border. When ordered by the border patrol to stop, the violators did not react, so warning shots were fired upward.

The detention occurred directly near the border: initially 18 people from different regions of Ukraine were detained, and later another man who had moved away from the main group at a considerable distance.

For the violation, liability under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses is provided: a fine of up to 13,600 hryvnias or arrest for up to 15 days.

A further investigation into the circumstances of the case and the identification of the full roster of those involved in the border crossing is underway. Law enforcement authorities emphasize a strict investigation of such cases and taking measures to prevent similar attempts in the future.

Legal consequences and further actions

Following the detention, procedural actions have been initiated to determine the motives and circumstances of the case, and materials have been prepared for further steps in accordance with the law. Such cases underscore the importance of border protection and adherence to legal procedures for crossing.
