  5. there are still site you can get to easily though google if you want porn, i have no problem with stopping children seeing adult material, but this doesn’t seem to be working.

  15. i don’t want it cancelled exactly but i want it reworked. For e.g using I.D to access vital info or sports, music etc NO.

    I’d MUCH rather them demand broadband providers auto put on Safety locks that can be turned off by request of the bill payer.

    Children shouldn’t see adult content online BUT this ‘measure’ is SO easy to get around it’s comical. the only people that can’t get around it are the adults/older non tech savey people. Kids aged 10+ know what a VPN is and how to use a free one. -_-

  17. No under 18’s nor “children” in our home, router settings are fine, Xbox settings fine, mobile phone settings fine..

    And as parents, we parented, so the kid understood from the outset reality versus fantasy be it tv (Dr who monsters) the walking dead, gaming, books, film, DVD content, politics and what a acrobat politician / political agenda is.

    about as well rounded as they come, model pupil, taught to respect people, animals, environment, well read ..hardly a risk necessitating this government bullshit.

    So, if it’s “for the kids” then why does all this garbage apply and subsequently foisted upon childless households (which make up what percentile of UK homes year to year, anyone)??

  19. Am I missing something?… They have our data already. What data are we trying to keep private?

    You guys are aware that the police access our phones without our permission, and without handing the phone over when we report certain crimes right? Not merely phone data but our Internet data from our phones. That’s not even NCA level, it’s borough policing level. If you’re using Google or a Google phone (an example), go look closely through your settings because they have access to everything. Your apps are harvesting your data. Your Internet provider can time and record all traffic and share that information. Remember Snowdon and Five Eyes? And you only thought of a VPN now, why?

I just don’t understand why they need pictures of our IDs for all these things – e.g. spotify, if I’m paying for it with my own bank account and have had my account for a number of years, during which I’ve had a student account which I had to prove with my acceptance letter, then why after all that do I STILL need to verify my age with my ID? It’s just laziness and this whole thing gives bad vibes

  21. I don’t get the argument that it stops predators. If a predator wanted to show a kid porn, they wouldn’t just send a pornhub link (which you can’t even do through things like messenger for years). You would just send them a video from some other source. They wouldn’t need ID, you didn’t need any to get it.

    I am of course against kids watching porn, it warps their idea of what sex should be, but this law does nothing and the excuses for it fall completely flat.

  25. They won’t cancel it, call me a conspiracy theorist but this was planned globally, the EU and US are about to follow. They’re not going to retract on it.

  26. A petition will do nothing, what if someone made a site where we can “vow” not to vote for Labour again until the OSA is repealed?

    1 million signatures will do nothing, we know that.

    1 million guaranteed lost votes could actually do something!
