Arkia Airlines flight from Rhodes to Tel Aviv lands safely after landing gear malfunction

An Arkia Airlines aircraft flying from Rhodes to Tel Aviv on Monday evening with 160 passengers on board made a safe landing at Ben Gurion International Airport after experiencing a front landing gear malfunction.

Flight IZ076 was declared under emergency status, prompting ambulances, fire trucks, and other emergency services to be placed on standby. The Israeli Air Force was also called in to escort the plane until it landed.

According to reports, the problem was traced to the aircraft’s front wheel mechanism. The plane, operated by Israel’s second-largest airline, touched down safely on its fourth landing attempt, with sparks visible from the front wheels as it made contact with the runway.
