But if they want to list cool ideas we’ve come up with, how about listing all the inventions, innovations and research that have taken place in Scotland in the last five years?
There are all kinds of exciting advances being made in various scientific fields, but then again 99% of them are done in cooperation with other institutions spread throughout the UK and abroad, which I guess wouldn’t really make this list of national achievements so …cleanly.
Better to fall back on the “we invented the TV” a bit more I guess 😂

That’s a very old joke, you won’t find nearly as many Scottish tramps in London these days. I’m not sure if that’s a sign of Scotland’s economy improving or our welfare state doing a better job than Englands but whatever it is, it’s surely a positive.
Also invented the Union Flag and the concept of the United Kingdom. Strangely not mentioned…

How’s about the SNP post their dazzling achievements rather than taking credit for loads of stuff (not all) that happened as part of the union?
Yet the poorest areas in Uk aren’t in Scotland . Blackpool area now has the lowest life expectancy in Uk.

We did not invent the television. Baird invented a mechanical version of a TV that never went anywhere. CRT TVs were invented by a russian.
The Irish also claim they invented whisky.
