My bike was stolen on 15 July 2025 near Gaffelseglet 11, Vega. The police doesn't care. This bike means a lot to me, as it belonged to my late brother. it has huge sentimental value to me, and I feel awful about it.
I’m offering a generous cash reward for anyone nearby who can help me get security camera footage or any other evidence. I believe there are cameras in the area.
I don't know anyone in Sweden, no family, no friends to ask for help, and I worry some locals might not be willing to help if I try to handle this myself because I look foreign, but I’m hoping the Reddit community will be different. If you can help, it would mean the world to me, and I'll fairly reward you for your time.

Keep your eyes on Blocket. [https://www.blocket.se/annonser/hela_sverige/fordon/motorcyklar?cg=1140](https://www.blocket.se/annonser/hela_sverige/fordon/motorcyklar?cg=1140)
Is it registered in Sweden / have Swedish plates on?
Look for it on Blocket: [https://www.blocket.se/annonser/hela_sverige/fordon/motorcyklar/sport?cg=1145&q=bmw+m1000rr](https://www.blocket.se/annonser/hela_sverige/fordon/motorcyklar/sport?cg=1145&q=bmw+m1000rr)
However: It’s one of the more expensive bikes so it’s probably stripped for parts or out of the country already.
Probably on its way to eastern Europe already, many of these thefts are highly organised.
Really hope you get it back. I’m not from the area but I would suggest checking if there’s a Facebook page where locals share information about various things. They’re quite common and might be your best bet at getting people in the area aware of your situation so they can keep an eye out.
Good luck!
They usually get shipped abroad if it’s professionals. If it’s kids they usually dump them in the woods or burn them if used in a more serious crime.
Sorry you can’t get help by the police but they are swamped.
Is this close to a port? Then you might want to check with their customs?
“The police doesn’t care” because they cannot simply materialize it in front of you at your request. They *do* care, and if its reported/see to them, etc., they will be able to recognize you as the owner. Check with locals, people don’t care if you look “foreign”.
Fuck. I’m so sorry.
That’s in Poland or Romania now bro
Post this on mc forums too mate. Awesome bike. Sorry this happened to you.
Don’t worry. It’s probably on its way to Eastern Europe as we speak, and it’s gonna to be put to good use.
Sorry, that thing is goooone..
Don’t you have any airtag or GPS tracker hidden inside ?
Probably in Lithuania already
Guys, kindly, please. Please stop with the scam talk. I don’t want this thread going in the wrong direction. I’m not scamming anyone, and I honestly don’t understand why some think that. For those who think I posted this so I can get the license plate, here’s a photo of the bike with the FIN plate (I’ve hidden it since this conversation has taken an unexpected turn): [https://ibb.co/gFhK8Lf3](https://ibb.co/gFhK8Lf3)
For context, I was touring across the EU with my bike when I had to leave it in Sweden and catch a flight for something urgent. It had been parked for a week, so I hired Assistancekåren to move it to a spot where it wouldn’t get fined. They parked it at Gaffelseglet 11, Vega and send a proof. The same night they parked it, it was stolen. So dealing with this from abroad has been really difficult. The airbnb host has been the point of contact so far with me.
Looking around i the area on google maps i cant see any obvious surveillance cameras. Do you know if the swedish police have tagged the vehicle as stolen?
Is the vehicle registered in Sweden or abroad (does it have Swedish or foreign insurance?)? Has it been registered as stolen in Interpol’s stolen vehicle database?
Nowhere close to that town but I’ll keep my eyes open. Even if it seems like the cops/ppl don’t care, please do a report and ask around in groups. The colors is unique enough that it should be easy to spot if it appears somewhere.
You won’t find it for sale here in Sweden. Not publicly anyway without the bikes registration papers. Sorry but since it happend in July the bike is gone now, probably in Eastern Europe. Your best option is to just report it stolen and it MIGHT be found in Eastern Europe in a couple of years. Happened to a friends bike, got stolen and Lithuanian police called him 2 years later that they found it and if he want’s to come and pick it up.
Sorry this happened. Don’t worry, assume people are helpful, ask around on MC forums, [https://www.svmc.se/](https://www.svmc.se/), [https://www.fmck.se/](https://www.fmck.se/), [https://bilkaren.se/](https://bilkaren.se/)
On next bike, put trackers, so you can track it through GPS.
hur stänger man av translate, allt är på engelska under /sverige ? 😉
Post in local facebook groups!!
I’ll keep an eye out bro
