  1. Ban them all. Toxic to our environment and our society.

  2. Nothing makes me more embarrassed to be a republican, than republican bonfires

  3. Absolute embarrassment. These bonfire builders are the dregs of society.

  4. The pallets on the republican bonfire are red white and blue?

  5. Waste of space and kindling.

I’d respect it slightly more if they didn’t just ape loyalist construction techniques.

  6. Yet it’s the same structure and colours as the loyalist bonfires.

What should be said is obvious, ban them to fuck

  7. As a republican this is so fucking infuriating and embarrassing. They’re adopting the worst aspects of the counter culture in our name.

The whole point of cultural resistance was to reinvigorate our own traditions not fucking adopt their’s!

  8. Interesting to see how Loyalists defend Loyalists bonfires when shared or criticised while Republicans criticise Republican bonfires, because they know it’s hateful nonsense regardless of the flag or bigots behind them.

  9. This is so embarrassing, also why would you even put John Caldwell on a bonfire? Who heard what happened to him and celebrated that- embarrassed to be linked to the same community absolute scrotes

  10. Absolute wasters, with no jobs, no prospects and nothing better to do with their days. It’s the same shit with a different football jersey.

  11. Good to see solidarity between youssuns and ussuns, both showing their arse to the world each summer with their knuckledragging ways 👏👏

  12. Fuck, are Republicans having massive bonfires too? C’mon guys, I thought we had more sense than copying these bottom level IQ derpity derp regarded traditions. the Neanderthaliness of this is off the fucking charts

  13. What is the celtic cross supposed to symbolize here?

  14. In the same vein as unionist bonfires and no less embarrassing, organisers and attendees should be ashamed of themselves.

  15. These are the pricks that fan the flames of “both sides are as bad as each other”.

No need for this shite at all and I say this as a Republican.

  16. Laughable the provos telling off anyone 😀😀😀

  17. The greatest pity about haters always hating is because not hating is just so much better for everyone.

  18. Billy wright hasn’t said a word against it in fairness.

  19. That’s a sin. I could make loads of compost bins out of those

  20. Sinn fein must real upset that they aren’t welcome to either side of the communities bonfires

  21. Ban them all. Automatic custodial sentence for anyone who so much as stacks a pallet on top of another on public or private land in NI. Prosecute anyone identified as being involved in the construction of one under environmental protection laws / hate crime laws where there are flags involved. Hand out fines like confetti for anyone who goes to one.

    Right?

  22. We’ve gone so far into the depraved cycle that we have come full circle. It’s no longer possible to tell loyalists from Republicans…

  23. I will never understand how a movement dead set against loyalism and anything British decided to adopt one of the more distinguishing activities of loyalism (i.e. a bloody big bonfire).

Not that it would happen but I would love to see the end of these archaic traditions.

  24. Sinn Fein effigies will be getting burnt on both sides bonfires now.

  25. Fucking vile shite, and I say that as a Republican. Ban all this stupid shit.

  26. Republican bonfire?
