While the next federal elections are not until 2029, and it currently seems likely that the current coalition of the CDU and the SPD will remain in place until then, several important state elections are scheduled for 2026. In some states, such as Saxony-Anhalt, it is not unlikely that the AfD will achieve an outright majority if the current polling data continues.
And if you take INSA it is 25% vs 27% CDU
There is no value in this information during this time, the votes just passed.
Russian and USA (since Trump) want it that way. They spread their right wing propaganda everywhere.
So…. we, the users, should do the same when Hungary has elections next time. We should flood the Hungarian internet with propaganda against Orban, so he will loose big time. Please help… I will tell you when it’s time to flood the zone.
Recently I’ve been missing the laughing Putin gif so much in this sub!
Turns out copying their policies only serves to strengthen their resolve great job cdu
That’s okay, I didn’t need a sense of peace and stability today or anything 👍
Well thats what happens when you deliberately exclude issues people been having for many years because of political correctness… I ain’t surprised at all
It’s not the first time, it already happened in April. I’m not saying it’s not concerning but I think it’s a bit alarmist to look at polls 4 years out of the federal election. Also as some others have mentioned this is cherry picked, there are multiple others polls showing CDU ahead
A victory for the AfD is bound to happen. The current government copied their immigration policies, so the AfD can claim that they were right all along. In the mean time the government is cutting social security and is focusing on trickle down economy. Also the way they are communicating is an absolute shitshow. A lot of CDU MPs were in full on disruption mode the last four years and they are not able to stop, they attack their own chancellor on a regular basis.
But i dont think the AfD will rise above 30%, the current government just gave out massive gifts for pensioners and they still account for 40% of all eligable voters.
The result of austerity and failed centric policies, like everywhere in the western world

Is that the way how Union try to half the AfD? What’s wrong with them?
I like how when there was CDU lead there were no polls posted and you had to look them up yourself, but the moment AfD got 2% lead the poll was instantly posted
And it means nothing since there is no election in the near future.
We JUST had an election! Are we going to check on the polls every week now? Feels like a good way to speedrun going insane with no tangible value 🙄
6 years of practical stagnation will do that to even the most stable democracy.
Remember the ‘stab in the back’ myth that helped the nazis rise to power in Germany after WW1? This time EU was actually stabbed in the back by their own politicians in the trade war with the US. This isn’t surprising, it’s just the beginning.
If this is reflected in the Bundestag it’d only be possible to form a moderate government by the thinest of margins, if at all.
And the “union” are essentially two parties CDU and CSU together.
Thanks to the CDU. Surfing on the right-wing populism wave – unsuccesfully – really strengthened the AFD.
Trump and Putin now know that they have 26% support among Germans
Its nice to be born just in time to witness the end of democracy and prosperity worldwide.
Question to Germany from a Latin American. All of this just because of immigration?
Far right is when no unlimited immigration
Solution: mainstream parties needs to get real tough on immigration. Denmark did this and fringe parties had the floor swept away from them.
Just produce policy that voters want. Germany has been extremely liberal and generous with immigration. People don’t like it. If mainstream parties deny it’s a problem, they will lose votes and elections. That’s how democracy works. Pretending a problem doesn’t exist because it is unsavory is not an adult way to handle it.
AfD’s Cause of existence = Questionable immigration law + strategic foreign cyber warfare. Same as in many other rich EU countries. It may continue to grow as in the Eastern block, up to 35-40%…
That’s what happens when you ignore your immigration problems and the voters notice.
I see more Palestinian flags than German ones, I see protests that focus more on other countries than on their own, and I see German children starting to imitate a foreign accent because they don’t want to stand out.
No matter where you come from, if you want to live in Germany, you should integrate.
No human being is illegal, but you have to become part of this system
The situation in Germany is not getting better…. otherwise the AfD would not have rise on consensus
Leftists are melting right now.
Just tackle immigration for fucks sake. Why are all these parties so blind to the obvious problem that fuels these extremist parties?
Denmark was seeing a rising far right party as well, and then the parties that were in power started doing something about immigration and it deflated.
This is the result of the disastrous immigration policies of previous governments.
And when the chat control law is passed, the far right parties just have to run a “we-value-privacy” campaign and they’ll be strongest party for sure.
Denmark and Sweden showed how to deal with fringe right parties: adopt stronger anti immigration policies and the unique selling point of those parties is out the window.
Germans are stupid, just like any other countries citizens. Populist billionaires control the yellow press, and the yellow press dictates the public discourse.
Doesn’t really matter to me if it’s AfD or CDU tbh. Both are corrupt, incompetent and right-leaning.
Merz is doing everything he can to ensure a win for the AfD in the next election. So I would actually be surprised if the AfD doesn’t win that election.
Thanks for the downvotes…
The 26% is not the scariest thing for me. I hate this party and I will never elect it, but I must admit, I am not any longer 100% against them, sorry.
a) whatever the other parties can or should do against the AfD, they do something? Apart from “nobody from the afd should lead an committee” or something like this, I don’t notice this. In opposite. Afd: “We need less welfare” and the 3 others, okay “let us…” No, if I do or say the same than the AfD, the voters elect the AfD. Or maybe, “No need to do anything, we will still reach 51%”?
b) At the moment we have Union+SPD, next time the same +Grüne? What should I vote if I am against this government? Should the voters not have a choice, without right or left wings?
c) In some provinces we have 3 parties, one or two larger parties, and one little party. Who want this little party? And it isn’t possible to say: “Hey we don’t want party X, please not the next time in the government”. And yes, like it or not, but in some provinces the AfD are the majority party, is this really democracy to ignore this? And some politicians say “The Afd and their voters are only dumb!”… the AfD get 35% or more.
d) “We must do something against AfD”… since 10 years?
e) “They are against democracy!”… only the AfD? For example, we have discussions about the ballot system over and over again. But only because of someone say “That change was wrong, we lost 3 seats”. Election for the judge of the supreme court. In nearly all none politic Institutions, you find politicians. The chairmen of the Parlament say a lot, that is far away from be “neutral”. Change the constitution with very shady trick. And much more.
I mean first thing CDU and SPD did was giving rich people a tax reduction and now they talk about cutting social stuff.. so yea anyone who still votes for SPD and CDU is kinda evil too.
Geeeez… I wonder why…
Hey Germany; Could you please not vote for fascists? It didn’t turn out so great the last time, remember?
There was just an election but I am concerned this government will collapse before the legislature ends. The CDU does not seem to realise the seriousness of the situation and keeps focusing on stupid things like forbidding gender-neutral language (?) and antagonising low-income groups instead of adressing the sluggish economy, high energy prices and social divide. All this while pouring money in a broken retirement system instead of fixing the broken infrastructure, inheritance of 16 years of autopilot. The only reason why they‘re still polling „high“ is thanks to retirees.
This will continue to happen until politicians/parties listen to people.
I say this as a left wing person, but the rate of immigration in Europe is really becoming insane. Since 2020, the EU has recorded a net population loss of -6 million people, whilst the overall population has grown by 3 million.
So, since 2020 there has been +9,000,000 immigrants in the EU. Roughly 1.8 million legal immigrants per year.
People are naturally unhappy with this. Until something is actually done like a massive reduction to say 500k a year, people will continue to vote for the people who talk about stopping it.
The product of uncontrolled mass immigration.
The Nordic countries already know the answer here – fix broken migration policies, and AFD will fade from relevancy.
Good. We need a voice that isn’t woke in Europe.
Just maybe they should have given them coalition responsibility before they grew so large?
In Finland national populist party destroyed itself when they actually gave them goverment responsibility.
Their support fell to half just in two years because their voters saw that they were pretty much lying c*nts who only reduced taxes for the rich people. Whine breaking every other election promise.
If things continue as they are continuing right now, we will not see them in goverment again.
Anybody who is shocked or outraged by that is completely out of touch with reality.
The political establishment in Germany worked long and hard (against their voter base) to make this possible.
