10. I don’t get the controversy. Very few estates pay inheritance tax as it is, and those that do can still bequeath up to a £1 million tax free.

    If anything, inheritance tax should be increased and income tax lowered by a proportionate amount. Nobody needs the money when they’re dead.

14. I truly believe that if the people running the government were actually honest, shared actual figures and said, “we need to raise xyz for this that and the other”….”these are our salaries, yes we have a house or 2 as a perk of the job and they’re rented out sensibly”
    People would have some respect for the government. The fact everything is secret until it suddenly needs funding or funding it cut just makes people go, “the fucks going on?”

28. These money grabbing cunts need booted out of office. This is just getting worse and worse. It’s bad enough with their plans to increase retirement age, but sticking inheritance tax on a pension is just fucking wrong.

    If the Labour Party had sense, they’d boot Starmer the Thatcherite from the party and do immediate damage control

At this point, this cabinet is speedrunning into being the most hated variant of Labour to ever exist… And it’s only like their first year in charge… I, like millions of others, am desperate to see this country improve in a big, big way, but, Lord Almighty, Labour is doing a better job than the Tories in sucking all hope out of having a happy existence as a British citizen. Can we just do away with politicians and come up with a more effective way to represent people? We need some sort of Oliver Cromwell moment to shift the balance from Westminster and really meaningfully put it back into the hands of citizens!
