Probably a tekken game. Think I was still playing the Sega mega drive back then.
It was 1996 for me, Ridge Racer, Rayman, and Crash Bandicoot.
The playstation was behind the chair in the living room for a month and I never noticed.
Nostalgic friday nights lets go
I can smell these decorations!!!
Mickey Mouse and the castle of illusions
Those decorations though, would love to have them back for one Christmas.
Mortal kombat trilogy. Bonus points for the awesome T Rex demo disc.
Croc and World Cup 98.
I think it was the Christmas of 96 and my parents got me a Mega Drive because it was a fraction of the price, I was delighted with it to be fair even tho all my friends got PlayStations
I had to wait until summer 1997 to get a PlayStation. Resident Evil, Command and Conquer and Mortal Kombat Trilogy were the first games I played on it.
God they bring back some happy memories
Christmas 97, the value pack including two controllers and a memory card. Two ‘platinum’ games – Tekken 2 and Ridge Racer. Unfortunately there was a storm on Christmas Eve, and there was no electricity until the evening on Christmas Day.
Those decorations though, hated them as a child, but now put them up every year and everyone has the same nostalgic revulsion reaction when they come over.
Metal Gear Solid
Battle Arena Toshinden
Santa didn’t come until summer 1996, and he did take my bass guitar as a trade, but it was worth it. He left Darkstalkers, Doom and Tomb Raider.
The PS1 didn’t have any games worth noting before 1996 other than Rayman
Can’t answer as I didn’t exist in 1995 but we still put up those things on the ceiling every Christmas!
Think i still had the Snes or Megadrive or was worrying how many girls was deciding was shifting for the week cause the braincells arent the best at the min so was probably still playing streetfighter 2/turbo or mortal kombat the 1st 3 of them had the playstation as well so would have played crash and tekken as well on top of them
actua soccer and tekken 1… Good times
Demo 1 and F197
I had to wait until 1998, but it was World Cup 98, Hercules and Chill.
In 1995 I did get a Mega Drive though. So many Sonic rentals, I was not capable of saving up enough to just buy one of them outright
We still have these at my house, that and an absolute shedload of Disney ornaments from ‘93 that go up every Christmas and predate me and my sister by years – my ma just **really** liked Disney stuff back then
Christmas 1995? T’was mostly books I got that year.
To this day I have never owned a Playstation.
Die Hard Trilogy
Soviet Strike
Tomb Raider
Was the Playstation even available in Ireland in 1995?
*Checks notes* yep. Apparently it did.
Anyway like a few people the game I got was Hercules. The Demo 1 with Abes Odyssee, Overboard! Rapid Racer, Kurushi, and that Dinosaur tech demo also get in.
Later down the line there is the demo with Tomb Raider 2, Coolboarders, Armored Core, Crash Bandicoot 2 and F1 97.
Amazing time with amazing games that likely have aged poorly bar the soundtracks.
A PlayStation in 1995. Jeez the Celtic tiger was strong and started early in a few homes.
Whipout and ridge racer
I didn’t get mine until spring of 1998 and I had to go on a waiting list at the local electronics shop for it.
I think Crash Bandicoot was my first game for it. I still remember picking up Final Fantasy VII in Quinnsworth and having no idea what kind of game I was letting myself in for.
I think it was Spyro the dragon was my first game. All I remember is my dad bought a chipped ps1 from the local black market which let us play a lot of pirated games.
Destruction Derby Demo..
1997 for us but it was Toca Touring Car Championship for the dad
and something for the kids, myself (4) and brother (10) – Duke Nukem 3D
What do you mean remember? My granny and grandad still put these up every year.
