  1. Problem is that Russia has 10 times more resources. They can afford a war of attrition.

  2. Russia doesn’t care about losses. No country won war of attrition against russia

  3. Means nothing when Russia does not value the life of its soldier’s.

Russia is willing to spill more blood than Ukraine for the same land. That is an opponent you don’t want to fight for much longer.

  4. Problem is Russian has 10 times more resources than Ukraine :/

  5. It’s like the third or fourth post I see about Russias’s losses (land and people) but nowhere do we see russian breakthrough in the Pokrovsk direction. Feels a bit like “propaganda machine” to be honest..

  6. Given that Russia is entirely on the offensive and Ukraine is entirely in a defensive posture this isn’t surprising. Beyond that Russia is clearly both willing and more capable of taking such losses. Focusing on body count losses is a classic fuck up, the US did the same in Vietnam and lost. For all the demographic arguments people wanna bring up, Ukraine suffers in that regard as well.

  7. Quadruple this.

    Edit: Top countries by view:

    1. russia

    2. …

    hahaha

  8. Providing more detailed figures, Zelensky said that Russia suffered 531 soldiers killed, 428 injured, and nine captured on Aug. 11. In turn, Ukraine’s losses amounted to 340, including 18 killed, 243 injured, and 79 missing, he claimed.

Or Ukraine has a spy so good that it has a single summary of Russian losses every day down to each individual. But it probably is not good enough to report the location of the Russian breakthrough and their plans

Or Zelensky just invented these numbers of Russian losses to boost the morale of the Ukrainians.

  9. Whether the data is true or not, there was never a reasonable peace offer on the table for Ukraine that it should have accepted, and as long as Putin is alive, there will never be one. Ukraine will continue to fight because there is no alternative. No people willingly let themselves be genocided.

I can hope that Ukraine, while trading space for time, implements military reforms to improve efficiency, while continuing to take in support mostly from Europe.

  10. Not enough. Russia has 4 times the population and 5 times the mobilization potential. So it needs to be 1 to 5 to be at least even

  11. By historical precedence, you need a 3:1 ratio to routinely beat an enemy on the battlefield. Russia is deploying a 3:1 ratio and is barely creeping into Ukrainian territory.

How terrible is the Russian military?

  12. Keep in mind the anti-Ukraine, pro-Russia post are very likely bots with autogenerated posts, specially those insisting that russia is not in a bad shape economically

Putin insists on a peace treaty with a territory that is not theirs because he is losing.

The bots wil try to insist that is the other way around. No, it isnt. He is losing.

  13. If it’s looking this good, why do they need more help?

  14. Under the Biden administration, US estimates had it at 3 Russian causalities for every 2 Ukrainian causalities.

  15. I mean… yeah, that’s just the normal rate of losses of the attacking side in like, all wars, isn’t it?

  16. Now swap it around so it’s putin saying that about ukraine and see how the critical thinkers of reddit react
