
“It’s not a secret that today the situation at the Belarusian borders is escalating. We can’t help but ask: the Belarusian army is ready to repel various types of possible attacks from potential adversaries, isn’t it?” a correspondent inquired.
“The main task of the Belarusian army is to be ready to repel aggression from an adversary. All activities of the Armed Forces are focused on this. We are permanently working to improve the level of training of staff and troops. We are permanently refining the structure of the Armed Forces. We monitor the development of conflicts and make changes to our documents, techniques and methods of troops operation. We monitor the development of means used armed conflicts, which are advancing very rapidly today. For instance, unmanned aerial vehicles which have broken onto and are causing very significant changes on the battlefield. We are taking everything into account and adopting it within our Armed Forces. This is a permanent, never-ending process for us,” Belarus’ Defence Minister replied.
Viktor Khrenin also noted that one of the demands of the President of Belarus to Belarus’ Armed Forces is to be on its toes. For this reason, the Belarusian army conducts exercises, training and sessions with reservists.
“You can see the full scope of activities the Armed Forces are engaged in today — these are preparations for a potential war so that we are ready for it when the time comes. We understand that the enemy is also watching us, assessing us, and we must think about how it may act against us. Therefore, such scenarios are always considered during all the staff training and exercises. We call this preparation and readiness to repel aggression,” he stated.
