I grew up in Florida, was out with some friends fishing for Goliath Grouper. Big ass hook probably about as thick as that nail, went into my buddies thumb and out through his fingernail, the barb was the only reason he couldn’t pull it out.

Be grateful you weren’t using ringshanked nails, much harder to remove.
You shouldn’t be driving in that situation. It is possible you are in shock, and may pass out suddenly.
