How much is a meal at a restaurant in your city?

  1. Depends on the establishment and the location.. Some simple thing in a sidestreet can cost you 3-15€ for a full meal and go to the grote markt or popular squares and it can cost you 30€ or more for a meal… So there’s no fixed price on this.

  2. Dinner? Depends on the thing you’re getting I guess. Anything from 15 to 30 euros is pretty standard, 30+ you get into the fancier types of dishes and restaurants, like certain steaks or fish, and given the season maybe some wild meats.

  3. The answer widely depends on your type of establishment. We have an asian place close to our flat charging ~ 10€ per person but already went to a few places which asked > 50 per person.

  4. What is your definition of a restaurant and what is your definition of a meal?

And looking at the reaction of the owner.. There’s no reason to go and eat there.

  5. Restaurents are ridiculously expensive in belgium. in september i was in France, Germany, Italy; all of them significantly cheaper. I would never leave reviews like this though, i always feel bad for even leaving a slightly negative review. especially when the owner wants to bully you for it in a google maps reply

It really left a sour taste when i saw that prices here cost 40% more than a meal in our neighbouring countries. Just makes me visit less horeca here. Only thing thats cheaper here is alcoholic drinks but i don’t drink alcohol so.. i guess i’m paying 2,70€ for a coca cola of 0.20 cl (don’t even get me started on that)

  6. Notice that he didnt say: my food is high quality, well made and delicious and so it warrants the price.

No he said: we are expensive because everyone else is expensive.

  7. Bruges or no Bruges, restaurant prices in Flanders and Bxl are getting ridiculous. Last week I paid >30EUR for a fucking steak fgs. Drinks not included.

With my core family of 5, a nicish restaurant for<200 seems impossible here. In France or Spain, less than half the price. WTF??

/end rant. Takeaway is is, from now on.

  8. Here in Limburg, I can get a decent meal for around €20-30, usually around 12-17 for the main dish, 5-10 for a couple of drinks and around 6 extra for a decent dessert.

  9. Oh I know this restaurant while working with food delivery. I never ate there, but from the vibe I felt while waiting next to the kitchen during summer, it is not a place for me.

  10. Imagine being so petty you try to start an argument in the reviews of your restaurant.

Anyways, I’m from Gent and here restaurants are priced fairly imo. For 25 euro you can get some really nice dishes here.
