  5. Heres the issue. Everyone talks about how russia is losing a ton of men and material. Its not like Ukraine isnt also losing people and equipment every day, it just doesnt get visibility. determining who is “winning” boils down to what direction armies are moving and breakthroughs like this. If ukraine is stretched thin, this is going to happen to them. If russia were stretched thin, it would be happening to them. With how russias advance has been slowing and the width of the active front has been getting narrower, that was an indication that russia was losing faster than ukraine was and in the near future you would start to see probing breakthroughs of this exact type but against russia. Even if ukraine cuts this off and patches the hole in the front, its a bad sign for ukranian fighting capability
