Lebanon works to disarm Hezbollah • FRANCE 24 English

After a tense meeting, Lebanon’s cabinet has approved an American proposal to disarm Hezbollah. In front of the press, Minister Paul Moros listed a series of objectives. The gradual end of the armed presence of all non-governmental entities, including Hezbollah, in all Lebanese territory south and north of the Litan River. The decision is unprecedented since the end of Lebanon’s civil war 35 years ago. But when and how it will be implemented is unclear. Four Shiite Muslim ministers walked out of the meeting in protest and Hezbollah says it would treat the decision as if it did not exist. France and the US nevertheless welcomed the move. As long as Hezbollah retains arms, words will not suffice. The Lebanese armed forces must fully commit and act now to fully implement the government’s decision. Another key part of the plan is maintaining a ceasefire with Israel, with Lebanese troops deploying to border areas and Israeli troops withdrawing from the five zones they occupy.   7. What is difficult to understand is that the Arabs have been humillated by Israel in several occasions and still some of them think they can appease Israel or the Americans. What kind of trauma do they have? There are lots of arms in Israel and in the US, even the Israeli settlers have weapons, and you think disarming Hezbollah as the Americans want wiil be profitable. What an extravagant idea 😂 😂😂😂

  8. disarm hezballah mean there no longer Lebanon existing if exist it will be like libya and sudab seperate and another civilian conflict…. Lebanon government should not do this
