The Ministry of Energy of Romania announced the completion of the evaluation of the second auction for the State Aid Scheme in the form of Contract for Difference (CfD), aimed to support the production of electricity from renewable sources – onshore wind energy and solar photovoltaic energy.
“In this auction round, we attracted investments for 2,751 MW of clean and cheap energy, 37 per cent more than the 2,000 MW target assumed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and at prices up to 50 per cent lower than the maximum ones,” said Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Energy.
Following the analysis of the financial offers, 49 applicants will be designated winners: 26 applicants for solar photovoltaic projects, with a total capacity of 488 MW; and 23 applicants for onshore wind energy projects, with a total capacity of 263 MW.
The average winning price for wind power was 73.89 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh), while it was much lower for photovoltaics: 40.35 euros per MWh.
The capacity offered at this stage was 1,263 MW for onshore wind and 3,160 MW for solar photovoltaic.
