  2. New 76.4% tariff on Brazilian beef.

    New 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican beef.

    New 10% tariff on beef from Australia and New Zealand, which used to be tariff free due to a trade agreement.

    Not new: 10% tariff on all beef from other countries.

    Of course, when the price of foreign beef rises, domestic beef goes up in price, too. There’s no incentive to lower prices if competitors aren’t charging lower prices.

  17. Here in Arizona because of everything being so dry and most cattle here are open ranged there’s no food for them. So ranchers aren’t increasing the size of their herds it takes about 4 years to bring them up so they can be sold for beef. They are making money right now usually they’re taking it and not getting it. And they’re afraid everybody’s just going to switch to pork chicken and turkey which I’ve already done.$21 a pound for flank steak a year ago I could have gone out to dinner and had a whole meal for that much.

  25. I was craving a steak last night. I get a steak about once a quarter to cook at home. I was shocked!!!!! Glad I don’t eat steak that often.
