(P&GJ) — Amigo LNG SA de CV has awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for marine facilities at its planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, to Constructora Manzanillo SA de CV (COMSA Marine).
The contract covers detailed engineering, construction and commissioning of the terminal’s marine infrastructure, including an LNG jetty, berthing and mooring facilities, and associated utilities. The project will feature a quad-berth setup with LNG loading arms capable of exceeding 15,000 m³ per hour, enabling faster vessel turnaround and efficient loading operations.
“Awarding the EPC contract for our marine facilities represents a key achievement in our project schedule,” said Dr. Muthu Chezhian, CEO of LNG Alliance. “COMSA Marine brings extensive experience in LNG terminal construction and marine engineering, which ensures we will meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.”
COMSA Marine President Ruben Alamo said: “We are honored to be entrusted with this challenging project. Its success will be driven by our unique combination of local expertise and an unwavering commitment to the highest international standards in environment, safety and quality.”
Strategically located at Guaymas’ deepwater port and near major gas supplies, the 7.8 million tonnes per annum Amigo LNG terminal aims to begin exports by the third quarter of 2028. The facility is expected to boost economic development, create jobs and shorten LNG shipping distances by up to 35%.
