It’s Friday! And halfway through the month already!
About time to kick back and relax and look forwards to the weekend. Unless you’re on your holidays, in which case you shouldn’t be working. Tell work to bog off.

Come on in and have a chat – much on for your Friday?

  1. Two more days of my UK holiday left before we travel the length of the country to head back home.

Couldn’t have picked a better week, spent every day in the sunshine on the shore eating ice creams and messing around. Think we’re going to rent a pedalo today

  2. I’m so done with Summer. Roll on Autumn and Halloween.

  3. Went running out barefoot at 3am to re-catch our big boy as thought he had loads of tics again (they glow on night cam) only to discover he had been self anointing and was still foaming at the mouth when he uncurled himself

He was rewarded with some cat meat

I was rewarded with standing in his poop after letting him back out

  4. I got halfway out the door before realising I was wearing a polo shirt from my partner’s company and not mine so this bodes well.

Site visits today but mostly drive bys so will be grateful for the aircon. Better than sitting at my desk!

  5. A week of sleeping poorly is really catching up with me, feel like shite this morning.

Also managed to get unexpectedly banned from one of my favourite subs which is disappointing.

  6. Still chugging away at this book. I keep saying it’s almost finished when I pop up on these things but I swear I’m just ADHD and I am close lmaoo

  7. In sheer desperation, have been out at 5am this morning and sprayed the house all over with the hose in a vain attempt to cool it down*. In a universal irony, UK housing stock holds onto heat nicely in the middle of heatwaves, yet that ability reverses in winter when you actually need it, and the houses hold onto the cold.

^(*Evaporative cooling works by using water to absorb heat from a surface or the air. When water evaporates, it changes from liquid to gas, which requires energy. The energy comes from the surrounding air or surface, reducing its temperature.)

  8. Last day in the office for a while. Mixed feelings. Don’t like the travel but oh my that office Aircon!

  9. Kids first day back at school. Been a long summer
Who’s bright idea to make it a Friday I don’t know but it was a dumb one

  10. 2 weeks off after today.

I’m looking forward to 2 weeks of doing fuck all.

  11. Dropping my missus off at her friend’s work later so they can both bugger off for the weekend. This does however leave me flying solo with 4 kids tonight and 3 tomorrow night when my daughter joins her mum. Gonna be a long weekend ☠️

  12. Had a biking accident yesterday. Was whizzing down a slope and signalled with my right hand whilst braking (front) with my left. I think you can imagine the consequences!! Needless to say, I’m hobbling slightly at work today with some bad-ass bruises to show-off

  13. Woke up to find that the dog had puked on the carpet in the night. Didn’t step in it though, so that’s something I guess.

I’m.usually off work on Fridays but I’m on a training day today so I’ll be sat in an overheated room listening to someone talk.all day 😭

  14. Off to the local tonight with some friends to celebrate the kids going back to school. But then tomorrow the dread of taking my seven year old daughter and her friend to the fair to drain my pockets of money.

  15. Been a bit of a grueller this week. Glad it’s Friday and hoping it’s less of a fucker than the rest of the week’s been but Law Of Friday Afternoon Drama makes that unlikely……

However, I forked out my dough to avoid adverts on the 4Player thing following advice from yesterday’s complaints thread so that’s improved things hugely!

  16. An office day and Im the first one in so I can be fairly chilled until everyone else turns up

  17. I’m looking forward to joining my people on those blessed isles. Three years away, and I also lost my daughter to you guys for most of that three.

  18. It’s the last weekend before my lad goes back to school, so obviously it’s wall to wall madness and probably won’t get 5 minutes to stop and think.

Roll on Tueaday and back to normality!

  19. Just home from work. Having some toast and a cuppa in the garden, then I’ll have a quick shower and get to bed.

Have a lovely day, everyone 🙂

  20. How on earth is the football back on already? Does it never stop?!

  21. I got signed off by the doctors yesterday from a broken ankle so time isn’t going to be real for another four weeks. Boss won’t let me work from home but there are multiple shit storms that are now no longer my problem. Cheeky bastards tried to get me to attend a meeting to help fix one of those problems. Sorry, my work from home request was denied. You can’t tell me I can’t work then schedule me for meetings dipshit

  22. My A level students did generally very well yesterday, one even got an A*! So im very proud of them. Today is wedding anniversary and wife wants to go to a pizza hut buffet, unusual choice but Im all for it

  23. It’s my 10 year wedding anniversary today so it’s a day of work then off for a nice Indian and a couple of ales in the local afterwards 🙂

  24. Stats to finish as senior management don’t get my work. Then also team meeting and training plus a volunteer visiting to discuss stuff. It will be another Friday with no lunch break.

  25. Lunch out with the office for someone’s last day. Woo.

Got my stitches out and now my wrist feels sooo much better, albeit a little bit numb over the scars.

Chilled weekend ahead. Maybe a Costco trip. Definitely going to get my head down and get stuck into this job application.

  26. This week has been up and down but it’s ended well with the offer of an interview for a job that I know will suit me down to the ground. I’ve had my break, I’ve healed, I’ve travelled but now I’m itching to get back into work again. This’ll be my 5th interview over a few weeks and I’ve got a good feeling about it. I mean, an interview offer not 2 hours after applying is a good sign, right?

  27. Spent the day at the safari park yesterday and my people quota is maxed out for the rest of the month I feel.

So naturally I have to face the dreaded town centre for shopping today because we need new clothes.

Oh and tomorrow is a food festival (which it’s food, specifically run by Beefy Boys so I can make allowances).

  28. I normally work a long, late shift on a Friday, but got the day off to celebrate my son’s exam results and getting into uni. Going out to a food festival for lunch and intending to buy some excellent cake for a lazy afternoon at home later

  29. I have several weeks worth of work to catch up on, so I guess I’ll half ass it and then feel guilty.

  30. Well I forgot to put the bins out, burnt my toast and spilled my coffee in the car. But it’s still Friday! Hope you’re all having a better morning than me so far.

  31. 10 hours on trains today… then home to see if the garden survived without anyone watering it while I was away. Except the courgettes, Armageddon wouldn’t stop them!

  32. Got my first driving lesson today (well, had some in 2019 but meh), so trying to still focus on work while being stressed outta my mind.

  33. Covering for a colleague’s holiday today, who has been managing a team not particularly well so I’m hoping to do a bit of unpicking. Then babysitting my little niece – first time trying to put her to bed on my own. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst with that one.

  34. Got a job offer that’s a significant pay rise, but the whole interview process was full of red flags around culture and work life balance. Really struggling to make a decision because my current role is fine but the extra money is calling.

Anyone experienced following the money and having a nightmare of a time?

  35. It’s my friend’s wedding next month and I’ve just realised this morning that I hadn’t actually booked the time off work yet, oh dear. Submitted it now.

No idea of plans for this weekend but I’d very much like a quiet afternoon as I haven’t had one in weeks, but that does require my wife taking our son out for a bit and I don’t want to push that onto her. Tonight I have the terrible choice of watching the opening game of the football season or an important game in rugby league. Hmmm
