M3 Lagan Bridge Westbound Closure this weekend (towards M2/Westlink)

M3 LAGAN BRIDGE CLOSURE: 9pm 15th August – 6am 18th August.
Allow extra time for your journey and seek alternative route where possible

Westbound (M2/Westlink bound side) only closure this weekend.
Eastbound (Bangor bound) still open.

During this time the M3 will be closed between Sydenham Bypass and M2/Westlink and there will be no access to the bridge from Middlepath Street, with all traffic leaving at Sydenham Bypass Off Slip.

The Diversion Route is Sydenham Bypass off-slip, Bridge End Flyover, Bridge End, Queen's Bridge, Ann Street, Victoria Street, Dunbar Link, Great Patrick Street and York Street (blue route – for going back onto M2 Foreshore and Green for A12 Westlink)

Reason for closure:
Belfast – Essential Maintenance Works to commence on M3 Lagan Bridge

A £400k major maintenance scheme on the M3 Lagan Bridge is to recommence on Friday 1 August 2025.

Last summer 10 bridge bearings were replaced and a further 8 are now scheduled to be replaced over two weekends in August from Friday 1 August to Mon 4 August and 15 August to 18 August.
