“So apparently Coldplay are playing in Hull in a couple of days so our Chris (who he's now known as) wanted to play a local gig on the way up. The puzzle (Puzzle Hall) is apparently a known venue so they called up and arranged it. He got his piano shipped up from London, turned up on a bike and had full security and full set up. I'm not even a Coldplay fan but it was out of this world, incredible!

The best bit was when he pronounced Sowerby Bridge wrong and everyone corrected him.”

  1. Alright mate, it’s Friday morning, no need to bring everyone down.

I know it helps to share trauma but is this really the best place? I hope you and your mate can get through this by supporting each other. Stay safe xoxox

  2. I wonder if it’s like the tribute act I saw other day in Benidorm

  3. Bloody Coldplay wannabe! Nobody’s original these days

  4. I hear that if you can convince him NOT to do a secret gig when he’s out and about, that that’s the REALLY rare event

  5. I was also “not a Coldplay fan” when my work bought us all tickets to see them… the gig converted me, amazing experience.

Must have been great to see such a chilled set.

  6. Coldplay are amazing and how special is that !? quite jealous!

  7. That’s amazing honestly. And so nice of him to make time for a gig like this.

  8. Hating Coldplay is a boring and overdone personality trait.

  9. Ah yes, already with the typical “Coldplay bad, my condolences” jokes from the Reddit comedians.

Parachutes, AROBTTH and VLVODAAHF are great albums and I will die on this hill. I don’t like their recent output either, but not every band can make consistent high quality for 25 years. Most artists have a fall off. It happens.

  10. Reminds me of Paul McCartney playing tiny gigs with Wings

  11. That is pretty cool.

It’s amazing how a video taken in 2025 has the vibe and quality of a holiday video from the 1990s

  12. Hey guys someone else make a ‘my condolences’ joke I don’t think there’s quite enough here yet

  13. I get massive artists doing this. There’s something that you lose when you play bigger venues. The intimacy of the show and seeing the whites of their eyes. Playing something small and close is a really great experience for everyone, getting the grass roots feel back is so comfortable after playing huge rooms.

  14. I feel slightly bad for Chris Martin. It must be weird to constantly sell out arenas and get billions of streams and yet almost to a man everyone says they hate you.

He always seems to come across as nice, too!

  15. Loving the comments on here. I’ve got no dog in this fight, whatsoever, but why are so many of you so vocal about Coldplay? I mean, you’re literally all just copying each other aren’t you – if not specifically on here then just generally. Epic and odd social-ovine behaviour.

  16. That’s awesome.

I saw T-Pain do a secret gig once at a bar in Camden. He was working on new material and he has an absolutely amazing voice. Nothing like the autotuned pop he was most well known for.

Did a cover of Sam Cooke’s a change is gonna come and it was incredible.

I know the whole point of secret gigs is that they’re secret but god I’d love to know where to go to get to see another one. It was amazing anyway but the fact it was so unexpected made it even better.

  17. Apparently he pebble-dashed the toilet. And it was all yellow
