For contrast, I, a five-decade daily smoker would require somewhere north of 500mg, ten times my wife’s.
Her family history of late-life mental health is not good, and our budget is fixed. But I make sure she always has plenty, for peace of mind.
In my youth, it was a lark, and I was blessed by privilege and did not get arrested for possession in 1970 because we *went down to the cop shop and talked to the Chief*(!) The felony conviction would have abso-ahem-lutely utterly ruined my life. At sixteen. For what? So I could work even *more* menial jobs when I got out of jail? Why?
Cannabis prohibition in the USA began as a racist ploy to reduce the number of voters likely to vote against the entrenched powers dating to slavery, with local laws that closely mimicked slavery era behaviors. It was tagged with the moniker “Marihuana” to make it sound “Mexican” to US audiences, and “foreign”, when foreign generally was taken to mean “lesser” or other negative connotation.
My State of Massachusetts made over $128,000,000 dollars in taxes from cannabis sales. **Last year.** With a population of 6.9 million compared to Ireland’s 5.03 million… And funny thing, when it’s legalized, even the lads with no green thumb give tillin’ the soil another go, eh?

Basically he believes cops are actually helping the suppliers when they arrest people. Because all they’re doing is removing competition and allowing the remaining suppliers to increase their market share.
He gave an example of spending months undercover leading to the arrest of 90 people. And the effect was it disrupted trade for 2 hours. The rival suppliers immediately moved into the vacant territory and hoovered up the customers. And by increasing their profit and power they also increased their ability to corrupt officials, making it even harder to catch the next batch of guys.
You can be pro legalisation and still be against those breaking the law.

We’ve punishment’s for when people break the law on drugs, like driving high , assaulting people while coked off their heads, we don’t need laws for the consumption of these things, so all drugs should be legal, not just cannabis, because you’re setting a precedent here , this is safe, this is not. Alcohol isn’t anymore safe than weed or cocaine, you’re capable of all kinds of self damage on it. Just decriminalise everything and invest in drug rehabilitation

Regulate it and immediately place restrictions on it as we do with tobacco. I would allow branding but no advertising or supermarket sales. Just have cannabis off-licenses basically. The benefits of decriminalization and full legalization are huge, yet we’re still being hit with reefer madness bullshit from almost a century ago.
This whole process is excruciating.
Prohibition is a child’s view of morality. Look at the data and the right decision is clear. A legal and regulated cannabis industry is good for society. Look at all the US states that have legalized – it has been hugely beneficial and they are all incredibly happy that they have made the change. Even people who were vehemently against it have changed their minds and Americans don’t change their minds easily or often.
I personally think smoking anything in a public space should be illegal. Nothing worse than walking to work at 8:30 and getting a smack of tobac blown right up your nose holes.

Legalize all drugs, use the proceeds to help those with addiction issues, offer help resources at point of sale.
