  1. Israeli Elbit Systems reported a record $23.8 billion orders backlog in Q2, boosted by global security tensions. About two-thirds of its backlog comes from outside Israel.

The company announced a $1.6 billion European defense contract to an unnamed country for artillery, drones, electronic warfare, and advanced intelligence systems, to be delivered over five years.

I was pretty sure that following Israel’s success in the multifront war declared on it will cause a surge in weapon sales. But I didn’t think it will happen so fast even while the very controversial war is still going on.

In general, Israel’s economy has been surprisingly resilient. With highlights such as the Tel Aviv stock exchange [preforming better](https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-tase-outperforms-global-markets-in-2025-1001508360) than most global markets this year, and Israel’s national debt [recently shrinking](https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-israels-fiscal-deficit-dips-below-5-of-gdp-1001518636) during an active war.

  2. So apparently Palestine Action, in addition to getting themselves banned as a terrorist organization, failed to make even an itsy bitsy dent in Elbit’s profits.

  3. Oh for sure. Next stop is Japan. These weapons have been tested against peer level tech and won. US and Israel going to arm North Asia in a heavy way because N Korea is next year, bet.
