Network rail refusing to budge on any kind of payrise with inflation through the roof.
Refusing to budge on what amounts to fire and rehire for the lowest grades.
Refusing to budge on job losses.
All while having 10 of the top 14 highest earning civil servants at the top.
Know where my cross is going.
but if all the trains stop, how will we notice the difference?
Careful demanding more money when you have no customers…
Good. As they should.
For years wages haven’t kept up with inflation, they should strike. So should every area of the public sector until the UK government starts paying people what they deserve.
Sounds like good time to introduce minimum service levels legislation.
I miss the days when unions could bring down the government.
The union should look up the definition of the word “threat”.
A threat is when you say you will do something undesirable.
This would be great for me. Just means I get to work from home more.
Those who rely on trains to get to work are even more fucked if this happens and I don’t blame the workers as the rail operaters are raking it in and constantly increase the ticket prices whilst finding ways to provide less services or expect everyone to cram into a 4 carriage train for a long journey. And if you’re rely on Southern Rail, it’ll be normal standards for Southern Rail.
We need some mass cross-industry/service national strikes. Stop everything.
Are there any roles these people won’t call safety critical? Feels a bit boy cries wolf. It didn’t make sense to me that train guards were so who knows with this repeat plot line.
