Underweight from Migros?

  1. Maybe they calculated the plastic bag that you “forgot to scan” into the weight? 😅

  2. either your scale is not balanced, or migros is lying (or maybe there was a mistake. i have no idea what the process of creating those labels looks like)

but seriously, check your scale just to be sure. mine was quite wrong before i realised the battery was running out.
made my cookies taste kinda mid because of it.

  3. If they measure it before reheating it its heavier because of the water.
And the packageing probably counts too

  4. Same numbers. A simple disorder between 2, 1 and 5.

  5. Pretty sure this is one of the many ways Migros and Coop nickel-and-dime customers.

Another one is online deliveries, where items are “missing”, expires same day, charge slightly more than the shop “for security, you’ll get it back” etc.

  6. I always check the weight when I buy oranges etc in a net at the migros, definitely worthwhile !

When I steal from the Migros police gets called and the shop charges me 200chf processing fee. But when the Migros steals from customers….

  7. The rest evaporated because the product sat in the shell for quite a while.

  8. Which Migros? Migros Zürich, Migros Aare? Another Genossenschaft?

  9. I tend to see a lot of stuff like that as mistake somewhere.

I could see to that stuff is weight before the final cut (as a norm this portion is always 215g) and this pie ended up for some reason overall smaller than usual.

Or they weight it before it dries and cool down and therefore loses water but 33% seems a LOT unless it’s the weight raw.

I’d double check if tomorrow’s pies are the same (no need to buy one just using the scales at the migros to test should be good). But also complain directly at Migros. They will often refund or at least give something back just in case it is an actual mistake on their end.

  10. Why not? They try funny stuff and if someone complains they simply feign ignorance. Rinse and repeat 😬

  11. Least sinister explanation would be, that it’s similiar to bread. They label it relating to the weight before baking but it loses weight due to vaporization of liquid.

  12. Very normal. The best thing to do is weigh things on the fruit and veg scales in the store. Even with packaging items are often nowhere near what they claim the weight is.

  13. When you opened the box the heavy air escaped. If you want your money’s worth, melt a straw through the plastic lid and suck the air before consuming whatever is inside.

  14. Scumbags. People don’t have enough money to fill their fridges and they do this! r/mildlyinfuriating

  15. Charge them 1000 chf for that, as they are charging 200chf for one empty bag.

  16. Was IT with reduced price? Not fresh anymore? Some weight loss will come from drying out. Fck Migros. Lidl rocks.

  17. A few years ago there were reports from several people that a 2 kg bag of certain apples (I think, M-Budget) was often underweight, but I wasn’t able to confirm it in our Migros. Even visually the smallest package was more than 2 kg. When I am shopping in Migros and have a doubt about the weight of the packaged food I put it on the weights in the department of the fruits and vegetables.

I think you have to report this case to the management of your store.

  18. I hope the weight on the package is not the sum of the item and packaging

  19. What’s the weight WITH the plastic shell ? (ik it’s not supposed to be count. Just curious)

  20. Happens all the time at Migros. You’ll find out if you care to weigh prepackaged stuff for the lulz
