  1. Erdogan took over a pretty modern country. Now as presitator he jerks off Lukashenko and Putin and jerks around the eu. Fx-king modern politics.

  2. first of all people with valid visas have every right to go to their country of destination. belarus says they can come what is there to discuss from turkish perspective?

second i love how feto despite being exact same as erdogan is still darling of west just like erdogan was until 2013.

  3. At risk of angering the mob, if they’ve got legitimate visas to Belarus, then that leg of the journey is not actually human trafficking.

It’s not really Turkey’s problem, and country A and B having a dispute doesn’t give A the right to stop country C from allowing flights to B.

Reinforce the border with Belarus. That’s all you can do.

  4. Ban all the airlines involved from EU airspace

Forbid any companies involved any trade with the EU

Put personal sanctions an anyone involved in the leadership of said companies and airlines

  5. Aren’t Turkish Airlines just serving travel from Belarus to Europe via Istanbul, since direct flights are banned? It explains recent increase in traffic.

  6. When Greece shut the door to Turkey pushing immigrants they decided to just use their commercial planes and send the immigrants through another way.

Poland will surely keep them off though because their PM doesn’t take bs.

  7. Sanction these airlines.

But then let these people simply go to Germany to end this needless escalation. It makes Lukaschenko much bigger than he really is.

Because of a few thousand people he is now in news everywhere. That’s exactly what he wants. Just ignore it at the border.

And sanction the hell out of these airlines.

  8. Did Turkish airlines increase the number of flights to Belarus or is it giving away free tickets to migrants?

Companies work by providing services or goods according to the demand. To prevent people flying to Belarus you either have to ban every airline company serving to Eurasia and North Africa from having flights to Belarus or disable the provider of the incentive.

  9. Are you kidding me. What are you doing? If someone has visa to Belarus what are you going to do ?

  10. Article have zero solid evidence just accusations. Turkophobe reurope redditors did not miss their chance to attack Turkey with questionably reliable news.

Other [european sources] (https://www.dw.com/en/the-route-from-iraq-to-belarus-how-are-migrants-getting-to-europe/a-59636629) have less biased and more balanced views.

    >Other airlines, like Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines, have much stricter screening procedures and demand valid papers. However, as the travel agent in Baghdad points out, it can be challenging to ascertain the true nature of a passenger’s trip.

If what TAL did is lawfull, you can not demand sanctions. But demanding sanctions againts Turkey is past-time of more than half of redditors here.

  11. I thought companies are there for profits. so they can make money if there is demand. If a plane ticket costs less than 200 euros why not. with a flight you are in front of an relatively easpy european border. If I would be a refugee, I would that route. makes more sense.

In the end europeans love cheap ryanair flights. I think you are more concerned that a european airline did not make money with it. hahaha.

  12. Its tricky though. Turkish airlines can very easily prove that all those people flying on its airlines have all the correct documents to fly. Nothing illegal there.
What happens after those people land in Belarus is none of Turkish Airlines business.

Politically, banning flights to Belarus means that Turkey is getting involved in the quarrel between Belarus (Russia in reality) and the EU, effectively siding with EU.
Turkey wouldn’t want to risk getting involved, since they already have enough on their plate, so things just flow the way they always did.

Plus banning flights from Turkey wont really solve the problem, since the majority of people flying to Belarus go through Russia.

  13. Very saddening to see some poles quickly accuse Turks of something that is done by their far slav cousins ruskis. They should remember Turks are the ones that actually counter Russia in different regions. We are Nato partners, Turkey recently patrolled over Polish airspace against Russian threats. These accusations do not bide well. Turks have a habit to not forget such events.

Instead Polish PM shouldve contacted Turkey for cooperation about this issue. It would ve been solved easily. For example TR can share information about flights with suspected immigrants aboard. The root cause is not Turkey as this sub and article try to imply.

  14. People in this comment section are delusional.

So are you guys are claiming that Turkish Airlines is responsible for refugee crises between Poland and Belarus because of not banning people to board Istanbul-Minsk flights based on their ethnicity?

How could Turkish Airlines stop people from going to Belarus when they have a ticket and visa?
