Had this bowl from collecting cereal box tickets since 1994… Used it almost every morning since! But today I broke it and had to say a few words as I chucked it in the wheelie bin.

Does anyone else still have relics of the past they have an unhealthy attachment to?

  1. I feel your pain on this one. Some things are constant through all the good and bad that life throws at you, and they keep turning up for you, day after day, to help you eat cereal.

    Then they’re gone.

  2. I still have my Frosties hacky-sack, from 2004.

Still have a good kick about in the living room with minimal damage

  3. Wheelie bin? You barbarian! It deserved a full ceremonial burial after that length of service.

  4. And yet I don’t recall any big fuss for their centenary last year!

I love the flat, steep sided bowls they used to do. Waste be damned, I want more promotional crockery.

  5. I’ve had a mug from a cafe in Plymouth I’ve had since 2011. Can’t bear to lose or break it.

  6. How odd that Kellog’s would make an ash tray – I thought for a second

  7. Noooooo , feeling it, I still have the Crunchy nut Cornflakes Superbowl (heavy duty it is ) cause one plate is never enough. We had those too, but they got clonked too many times off one other in the dishwasher going in and coming out that the chips became hairline fractures then binned. Regretted we didn’t keep them as ornamental they are/were nice cereal bowls.

  8. Oh man I remember having two of these before they went to the great china shop in the sky. Absolute throwback.

  9. This would be the end of its first life. Then, like a cat, it should be entering its second life. As a plant pot.

  10. I still have a commemorative mug in the shape of a boxing glove from the Frank Bruno/Mike Tyson fight from the late ’80s.

  11. We had the snap crackle and pop versions. Bet they’re still in my parents kitchen buried somewhere.

  12. My commiserations. I still have an old TMNT ruler that comes in handy from time to time.

  13. Get some well sugared mushed up wheetabix as an adhesive and kintsugi the broken piece back in.

  14. You savage. A bit of polyfilla and some white enamel bath paint and that bowl would’ve served you for many more years!

  15. No unhealthy attachment for me but mine was being used as a cat food bowl until it got dropped. It got replaced by another cereal bowl from that was won from a Cheerios box with a code. It too got broken when it was left in the garden one winter and ice cracked it. Still in used but only for cat biscuits now

  16. This could have been fixed easily with some patience, Milliput, and a little water. I’ve repaired similar breaks before now.

  17. Fucking hell! Memory unlocked! How many tokens did that bad boy take to acquire!? I’m googling all the old gratin card cars and lorry’s now 😂
A time that rewarded you the more you smoked embassy no.1’s 😂

  18. I think I would have glued it back together and put it on display in a cabinet
