  4. It’s a trial balloon with the American people. He floated invading Greenland and Canada, it didn’t receive the support he wanted, so those actions have gotten much quieter. Now he’s floating using the military within the sovereign nation of Mexico and seeing if that will fly with Republicans, donors, and supporters. The basis of a populist is to do what’s popular. Trump is trying to figure that out, and he does that through some odd trusting of his gut, which is what populists tend to be good at – reading the room.

    What’s funny about the cartels, US have no problems with arming them. If the US had proper laws to control and track firearms sales, the cartels won’t be that dangerous.

Other countries south of the border also export oil to us, and if we invade Mexico it’s a safe bet those taps get shut off too. Our car industry relies on manufacturing south of the border, so all that, along with our car industry, goes away overnight.

  28. Expect massive blow back in the US for this….but at the same time, watch as ICE and all the other fascist departments round up any Mexican-Americans who speak out and protest against the invasion of Mexico.

    That’s exactly the point. Trump will go to war and do all types of unethical, unAmerican things and if you speak up or have an opinion about it, that doesn’t align with their views, then off to deportation and disappearance you go.
