Hey folks,
If you keep forgetting to start Easy Ride when you leave your house/work, here’s a little automation trick that might help.
Setup:
Download "Automate" from the Play Store.
Create a flow that:
1.) Detects when you leave your home location (WiFi disconnect).
2.) Play a short audio notification.
3.) Opens the Easy Ride app.
4.) Save & run the flow.
Now, every time you disconnect from a WiFi connection, you’ll get the reminder and the app will be open for you.

With a Samsung phone, you can create a routine that automatically starts SBB Eastside when you leave your apartment or Wi-Fi, etc. 🙂
I mean that’s cool is it acutal good/smart enough to never over charge me? Specaily if I go to a city I am never sure if it tracks me walking around as using trams so I just turn it off and turn it on again when I go home
EasyRide burns my battery, but I have an aging iPhone…
You could improve this by adding your nearby stations as a GPS zone (make it large enough to account for update delay) and check if you’re connected to the wifi when you enter the zone (or just open it anyway without connection check). This way it only reminds you when you leave and go a station and not when you drive, ride, walk away or whatever you do to get away from your home except public transit.
I’m not sure if the app you use is capable of doing that. I use MacroDroid to turn on/off the Wifi on my phone automatically when I come/leave home and work (although most is done by a Home Assistant automation). A simple MacroDroid Macro/Automation/Flow without Home Assistant works as well. Just trigger when xyz geofence is entered and make it send a notification and open the app.
