I'm non-native so I had to do a lot of research to fully understand the importance of hand making the Schuletüte. So I just decorated it with her favourite colours and characters hoping that maybe it could be a conversation starter with her new school friends. I just hope it's good enough lol

  1. Very cute, well done!

    You know, of course, that the kids will only care about the sweets inside, don’t you …

  2. It has

    * Mario
    * A creeper
    * cute animals

    Your kid has the Schultüten-Jackpot.

  3. But wait, aren’t you a little early still? Where in Germany is Einschulung tomorrow?

  4. Curious. Are schultüte only for the girls? I have a friend who’s also a girl-momma, recently made a schultüte for her daughter. Haven’t seen any pictures of little boys with schultüte.

  5. That’s honestly so sweet! The fact that you researched the tradition and decorated it with her favourite colours and characters makes it way more special than anything store-bought. I’m sure she’ll be proud to show it off and it’ll totally help her connect with new friends. 💕

  6. Can you make me a Schultüte too please? That looks super nice!

  7. You are so Alman I love everything about your post and feel ashamed when i remember the one we made in comparison to this beatiful piece of art.

  8. That’s an amazing Schultüte! You can be proud of yourself!

  9. From a German guy: This is really well made and also fits the tradition exactly.

  10. That is a great Schultüte! Kudos. Now fill it with candy.

  11. Great work! Im an american (who studied in germany and speaks german), and we made this for our daughter before she started kindergarten last year. She loved it.

    In all honesty you did waaaay better than we did.

  12. Love it!!!! Also, why am I instantly tearing up at seeing a Schultüte 😭 It’s probably the most innocent thing in my world..
