950 per month and “overnight guests only by prior agreement”

  1. I’ll never forget the guy renting in Galway who was insane about cleaning. “We don’t wear shoes in the house, we have these slippers with a cover over them. We usually only rent to Spanish students”

Fucking deranged when speaking to him.

I hate landlords like the one you’ve posted. Pure exploitation. You can *stay* here but you can’t *live* here

  2. In fairness that won’t be a problem for a large amount of people, the 950 on the other hand is crazy for a room anywhere

  3. I’m a live in landlord and I have the same rule. I don’t want a tenant and their partner living in my house when I specifically advertised the room for one person.

However, I apply the rule to myself also. I let my tenant know in advance of *anyone* coming over. Whether that’s overnight or for a cup of tea.

My price is less than half that and they get their own living room lol

  4. The overnight guests is probably due to the last person moving their GF/BF in. There is nothing more annoying then someone there full time not paying rent. Call over have a ride during the day but fuck off back to where you live as I don’t want to see your half dressed GF at breakfast in the morning when I am trying to food. Or worse they are there sitting down having breakfast and make you feel awkward.

The place is small. Looks in good shape. I shared this one place with one bathroom where a guy and his gf who was not living there used to have long baths. I would be touching cloth.

People can be cunts. We had a birthday party before COVID for our kid. Invited the whole class to a petting farm, food, tour etc. Now it was very expensive but we wanted to have one big party for her once. Anyways some cunts used it as an opportunity to bring themselves and all their kids along also. So you might go oh so maybe they are a single parent and had childcare issues. Nope, mom, dad and 3 other kids rock up for a free trip to the farm. Perhaps they didn’t know. Well when food came out and there was just enough places for the kids in the class it didn’t stop them telling their kids to also to try and sit in the places that were already for other kids in the class to get food. These were both Irish and non Irish who did this.

Next time for the younger child we need to put siblings can not be catered for at the party of some shit like that just because a few people are cunts.

TLDR: People can be assholes so you need to do this type of shit.

  5. This is common across the world and kind of fair when you consider it. If i am just renting out a room in my house I’d rather not have more random people popping over all the time

  6. The “no guests without prior arrangement” is a safety thing. Would you be happy with strangers invited into your home overnight?

I once lived with a psycho girl who was shagging a new guy every night. I couldn’t give a fuck who she shags, but I do have a problem with random lads in the house who nobody knows stealing my shit.

Once, one of her guests decided to spend the day sleeping on the couch, turns out he was homeless. He was not too happy about leaving and broke our (rather expensive) TV. Of course the roommate didn’t take responsibility.

I’m fine with landlord bashing, but the guests issue is a reasonable one, and it’s good and decent that they’re saying it up front.

I’d guaruntee if you were in a relationship and explained that to the landlord, they’d take no issue with overnight visits. They just don’t want random skangers in the house that they themselves live in.
