  1. Yeah I figured that. There’s just too much distance between what Putin will accept and what Trump is willing to offer. Say what you will about Putin but he’s not stupid. He already got cooked once on the Minsk accords which Merkle admitted was just a ruse, and he saw Iran get cooked by Trump bombing them in the middle of negotiations. Trump has proven he cannot be trusted so Putin is going to have enormous demands to give Trump the ceasefire he is so desperate for.

  3. Him even being in US is such a spit in a face of western values. All those sanctions and orders mean nothing if war criminal can just come and go to other countries. Disgusting.

    And of course it’s nothing more than this. He wanted to show how nobody would do anything to him, he didn’t want to make a deal, he doesn’t care about ending war, since it doesn’t affect him personally

    Sounds like Trump is coming around to Putin’s way of thinking, and stomping all over Zelensky’s constant “ceasefire before negotiations” demands. We’ll see if it sticks, Trump changes his mind a lot, but if it does the negotiations may actually have a chance of going somewhere.

  5. There was never going to be a deal, because this meeting was barely even about Ukraine. This meeting will have been about what business deals they can secure and profit for each other. That’s why there’s no real news on it, and why he is making that shit eating grin. He was mentioning ‘making deals’ for weeks.

    Trump only wants to make lucrative business/economic deals. Putin wants sanctions lifted, to enmesh the US further into the Russian economy as a lifeline, and to make as little diplomatic progress on Ukraine as possible to keep dragging the process on to and keep taking territory, and he knows he can because Trump is an actual moron
