Hi guys and gals,

In may I will be visiting Malta for the first time ever. We were looking to maybe do the Hornblower Cruise amongst the islands.

See website: https://hornblowermalta.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw9LSSBhBsEiwAKtf0n-lqzyEd0fT51c-fEnYVIbek3Pd3PnA0d_pWoFaqRRuKie8j8ok2JRoC60sQAvD_BwE

Is it worth it?
And are the onboard prices for food and drinks a bit normal?

Bonus question: what do you recommend we see, visit, experience when in Malta?

Thanks a bunch!

  1. Never went on hornblower to be honest so I can’t help you on that.

But regarding visits I would suggest:
    – Valletta (capital city) you can use ferry service to/from Sliema
    – Mdina
    – If you would like a party Cafe del Mar is opening this weekend its one of the best venues in my opinion.
    – Sliema is a touristic area with a lot of restaurants/bars/shops etc…
    – Paceville is were the “clubs” are, if you’re a couple I wouldn’t suggest but it all depends to likings.

  2. All Comino tours (Hornblower, Captain Morgan, etc) and similar tours combined with Gozo: avoid them.

    The problem is: time.

If you go to Comino by yourself (taxi/bus to Cirkewwa) you can stay on Comino as long as you want and come back whenever you want.

Hornblower: gives you a waterslide and loud music, but limits your time and flexibility (especially if you’d like to explore more of the island)

    The same applies to Gozo.
