  1. Wow, who could’ve seen that coming. Im shocked things weren’t different from 2 months ago, when the last one was discussed. Best start another petition over and over until a certain group of people get what they want. True democracy! /s

  2. We could do that with every new PM. Have a petition for some people that don’t like them. ..it’s just silly.

  3. How many people signing this petition were the same people proclaiming “you lost, get over it” after the Brexit vote?

  4. What do we want? A general election!

When do we want it? Every few months until the party I support wins!

    🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

  5. Only facebook gammon sign a monthly petition for an election. lol Dumb af.

  6. By the petitions logic we should just run non stop elections every year as there will statistically always be a sizeable group that didn’t vote for the Government of the day.

  7. Oh wow, so we cant just change the rules on democracy because we’re sad? The twats signing these petitions are the same ones who harp on about british values and brexit meaning brexit and people having to live with it.

  8. So just like all the ones that were put up under Boris, truss, may, Cameron and sunak?

  9. Seems like a fair answer.

About as many words as the question deserves.

  10. You could probably get that many signatures on a petition for a new GE the day after every GE we’ve ever had.

  11. I mean, it really would have been one for the ages had he said ‘yes’.

  12. Same as all the other stupid petitions that spring up after the country realises that it has really screwed itself. Brexit, tory pocket lining etc why is this any different.

  13. You have to let a government actually do stuff before you kick them out or we’ll have day 1 governments for the rest of eternity. It’s called democracy boys, if you want a re-vote it’s probably because you didn’t bother to vote when it actually mattered.

  14. Do people forget the Tories were in power for almost 15 years??

  15. Just feels very performative, overall the government is doing fine

  16. Imagine if he said yes, that’d be hilarious.

  17. There’s no point they’re all different types of useless

  18. New petition demanding another election on 7th December, the deadline for this one is 6th December

  19. At this point I don’t trust any party, people say reform is the next place to go but I’m not so sure

  20. Well, the petition will seed another, as well a decamping of Labour members, and supporters.

  21. Why would you agree to a GE when you know absolutely you’d lose power. I don’t know why people do these when they know what’s the case so the govt aren’t exactly going to just go “aye okay” and lose to reform that for a party like labour is the worst thing that could happen ever. Not to mention at this rate they would probably pool lower than JCs party.

  22. The same guys saying “You lost, get over it” for the last decade demand a rerun of a real election because their guy lost.

  23. I mean, a general election at this point is stupid. This government just need to communicate better and listen to the people instead of this weird path they keep going down

  24. Why would he support general election?

You know that elections are held in UK ONCE every FIVE years…

Like sure – any party can call general election early, but why would Labour do it… you only do it when there is either a hung parliament, a split in your own party or PM/Cabinet loses the confidence of the party… What would be the reason for Labour to call snap election now? They have not been able to implement their policy yet, they have super majority, the leadership still has widespread support within party. Obviuously they will stay for full term, as long as they can.

Now they may have lost majority support in public, but that is neither here nor there, that is why the terms have maximum length of 5 years, so that when government has a reasonable amount of time to implement the policy the public can judge their work and if public no longer likes direction the country is going into they can vote for somebody else.

So I am not saying whenever it is good idea or not, or whenever I like KS or not, but just logically it does not make any sense for him to call general election…

  25. Don’t worry we’ll have the first prime minister not to finish high school soon after the next budget.

  26. All these ‘small state’ advocates who want to let reform UK assets strip the country., Have any of you actually looked in to the cost of setting up and signing (for debate at committee) these bullshit petitions every week? This money could actually be spent in communities otherwise. Same as your dog whistle riots. You might be ‘concerned citizens’, personally though I just want the buses to run, and the road not to be full of potholes. Burning and looting your local high street isn’t exactly a productive use of limited funding,. considering all the coppers ot that’s needs paying out, the lost revenue from business forced to close because they’re in a flashpoint area, and the costs of remediation.

  27. Unless the petition has half the electorate signing it then the answer probably *should* be no

  28. “you lost get over it” to the people who supported Brexit and same people wanting another election after only a year.

  29. Internet censorship,

ID verification for using the internet,

    No elections

Did he study abroad in CCP China or North Korea?

  30. The Venn diagram of people signing this and people who said “you lost get over it” about brexit is a circle.

  31. Start a new petition to call it the Keir Starmer Wanker Act. The more people will search for ‘keir starmer’ and ‘wanker’ in the same query, the more search algorithms (and thus AI and anything related) will learn that those two are a pair.

Imagine searching for ‘Keir Starmer’ and Google comes up with ‘did you mean wanker?’.

  32. That’s OK, Starmer changes his mind more often than some people change underwear

  33. So the tories and their supporters said we can’t have another EU referendum but now bitch and moan about wanting another election? Get a fucking grip

  34. When a party goes back on nearly every single thing in their manifesto what can the people do?

It literally means the party lied to get in power and can do whatever they want. That’s not democracy.
