You can’t just help yourself to cars from the countryside mate – put it back.
Make sure you soak them to get the maggots out.
They re going to make a mean blackberry crumble
Yummy, blackberry and apple tart and custard….heaven
What a cunty way to say, “I picked some blackberries”
In Canada, you’re in competition with black bears, watch your back 😜
Ah mate, I’ve just finished picking and eating mine. What a coincidence
Remember to take the ones above chest height only. Not the lower ones in the… splash zone.
we’ve got an entire passageway nearby growing them. ones in my garden taste sweeter than at my friend’s house so you gotta make sure they taste good before you start nabbing them
But you did take a photograph.
I agree. When I was a teenager, my older brother found a 9 bar in a carrier bag in a hedge. He took that home immediately
Now leave it hanging from a branch.
The magpies are loving the ones in our garden
Just make sure you only pick the ones further than 5m away from a busy road because they take in pollutants. Its not like it used to be but still.. it really effects flavour.
The blackberries where I walk the dog are all scrawny things
With that attitude, we wouldn’t have hedge porn. Good on you.
The best ones are to be found at the side of railway lines. Well, that’s what my parents told me.
Always pick from above dog leg height
Just picked 1kg of these bad boys today myself, way more than the local birds would ever eat and no one seems to pick them where I go. Soaked them and then did a giant blackberry cheesecake and 20 blackberry muffins to share with family/friends at a bbq tomorrow and still have 200g left over.
“sir, what’s in the bag…”
“…shits!”
**Runs off into the distance**
You lucky sod! They’re all gone round here, I got a mere 350g the other week.
I picked a small bags worth this morning too, usually I can get a bag heaving with the best berries and a few days later there will be more again. But this morning they were mostly tiny and shriveled, the best ones were in shady spots. I think mine have suffered with the lack of rain unfortunately, oh well a little pie it is!
Purple fingers or you bought them.
Strange looking dog poo
Bramble crumble
I stayed at a campsite recently where all the dividers between different pitches/areas were hedges full of blackberries. 😋
I hear ya, and I need you to hear me out… blackberry jam and peanut butter sandwich/toast.
Those look Quality, we just went for a walk around the local fishing pond and saw some of the fattest juiciest boys there. Big thumb sized ones
Are they now lavender scented?
I’m clearing out most of my freezer to get as many bags in as possible. Reckon I’ve got about 9 kg so far and already made 6 jars of blackberry jam. The fields around here are groaning with fruit. I always chuck some on the floor for wildlife and don’t take them all.
Exactly, I brought home a lovely tractor the other day
I hate blackberries not because they taste bad but because it brings back memories of spending absolutely bloody hours picking the damn things on the farm I grew up on and getting scratched to shit.
Especially at the price they are to buy right now.
Love these free snacks when out and about.
I say wash the car
Was eating some today on a coastpath walk. I pick them and make blackberry jelly.
I did the same, two poop bags full and I made jam.
I see them everywhere. So how come they’re so expensive in supermarkets?
I always make the BEST sauce for icecream with em…. after theyre cleaned, just boil the crap out of them for a few hours while gradually adding sugar to taste. then pour through a strainer to get the bits out, and bottle it up… tastes AMAZING on vanilla icecream. strong recommend.
