Lownie told an upcoming episode of Newsweek's The Royal Report podcast: "Harry wasn't in my book at all. And I think when the book came in, the publisher said, maybe just out of interest, what was the relationship between Andrew and Harry?
"So I went to my source and they gave me that little paragraph talking about the two altercations in 2013 and then over Megan in 2017. And I put it in and I didn't think any of us thought that it was anything but a sort of passing moment.
"I mean, I don't remember the lawyers even raising it but clearly he took umbrage at the suggestion that he had defended his wife's honor and instead of just asking for a correction or anything, sent off legal letters to Harper Collins, my publishers.
"I had to double down with my source and make sure it was accurate, which we believe it is. Collins have responded in a responsible way, they've added a line actually, and I recorded the line for the audiobook a couple of days ago, just saying that Harry denies these allegations. And I I hope that will be the end of it.

So disingenuous. Innocently saying, “I don’t understand why he’d be upset why someone would say he physically assaulted his uncle???”
That’s utter and complete bullshit. Of course she knew that would be a huge tidbit that everyone would run with. And that Harry would be pissed off by its inclusion. And, I suspect it’s retaliatory due to Harry adding in William knocking him to the floor in his own book.
(And frankly, I think two brothers getting into a pushing match that results in one of them falling over is a much, much smaller thing than hauling off and hitting your uncle that’s decades and decades older than you. And look how much the British media made of Harry’s William story. Which to me isn’t a very big deal. This woman is so full of shit trying to play this off as no big deal. BS all the way around!!!)
In other words: “My book wasn’t interesting enough on its own to generate buzz so I was *advised* to add in tidbits about Harry and Meghan…”
Tabloid journalism Make accusations then drag out correcting it (and this is no correction it’s a legal CYA).
Author lied and got caught
I wonder if it was Andrew who asked about Harry and Megan’s future children.
Financial settlements are a revenue stream for them.
I seriously doubt there was a legal threat. Crazier obviously false things have been written about Harry and Meghan in these book by so called “royal biographers” for years. Harry and Meghan only go after big fish like the Murdoch empire. I suspect this guy has just said this to stir up attention for his book. Also he knows the best way to get attention is to do drag Harry and Meghan in to it. Plus he knows people are gullible and willing to believe anything about Garry and Meghan.
You ask for corrections *by* sending letters to the publisher. Lordt.
