  1. People played this like it was a game of football. Now we have to deal with the real world consequences for decades to come.

  2. Oh yes, small government also known as corporatism. They tell schools who is allowed to play what sport, they force women to give birth or die due to it, and made it illegal to be homeless. You never can tell the government even around when Republicans are in charge, small government.

  10. Very few politicians give a damn about deficits or debt. They just talk big. And this has been going on since the 80’s (not 2001) with a few feeble attempts to stop it.

    I will assume that when (hopefully) a new administration gets in power, the current tax rates will go up and then some. We passed the “point of serious trouble” a few years ago when debt>GDP. It’s going to be very hard to crawl out from that.

    I was shocked when the T-2 tax cuts were passed a couple of months ago. That just assured that when some politicians got some sense in their heads — it will take a LOT more effort to save this country financially. The sick thing is that a lot of conservatives who passed that nonsense have been screaming to be fiscally conservative for a long time.

    This nonsense about tariffs is really a joke. As a revenue source it turns into an illusion. Eventually, other countries in the world will adjust their trade patterns to exclude us from the party. Just another illusion. And ironically, the 1% or higher don’t really need a dime of their tax savings.

  11. Can we stop calling whoever these people are “Republicans.” That party is long gone. These people are fascists. Let’s put that on the ticket next time around. Democrats Vs. Fascists.

  12. Trump should be proud. He’s managing to tank the economy in mere months, it has taken most Republican presidents at least a year to do that. /s
