MPs to get scientific briefing on climate after activist’s hunger strike

  1. After the briefing they will “follow the science” and do exactly the same as now, a lot of lip service but not enough action.

  2. Great news, though it’s probably inevitable that they basically ignore it.

Once you really understand the predicament we’re in, the only rational conclusion is radical wholesale systems change is not only necessary, but inevitable.

The only decision now is between radical voluntary change now, or radical involuntary change in a couple of decades.

  3. We know that when Boris had the same briefing back in 2020, that it had a profound effect on his understanding of climate change, where he described it as his ‘road to Damascus’ moment. We need all of Parliament and the Cabinet to have the same opportunity at understanding this civilisational-threatening issue.

  4. Where many will ignore it because who will think of the poor profits of the petrochemical or animal agriculture industries? They have already forgot that COP26 took place last year, they will forget about this briefing in the time it takes them to have a cup of tea.
