Tallaght has actually come on really really well and has pretty much every amenity you’d need on your doorstep.
Most if not all areas close to the M50 side are really nice settled areas. They’re pumping money into a lot of it too with greenways, libraries, road upgrades etc.
Once you pass the square it gets a bit…..
Thanks for this. Ballyer is actually pretty decent these days too. I was down there a couple months ago after having not been there in years, and the place is looking and feeling downright liveable. Only took 40 years.
Tallaght is fucking huge and variable. I went to view a three bed semi down in Kilinarden there recently for rent for the same as a one bed apartment in the city (which city? Galway, or Cork? No Dublin obviously, ’cause of the fucking context obviously you pack of insecure sarcastic beautiful people). Yeah, it’s still Kilinarden, a 10 year old with two pit bulls asked me if I was a faggot and tried to make them attack me in the garden of the house I was viewing, they ran up and started licking my hands, ’cause pit bulls are lovely friendly velvet hippos.
Meanwhile my parents live 10 mins from there and all the old people on the road are sharing plants and flowers to sow in thier gardens for summer and isn’t it only fucking lovely.
It’s a city by Ireland standards and every enclave enclaves itself enclavedley. And so it was. And so it remains.
Just send a load of people from the flats in to new estates with no bus routes to get to work and no shops or anything in the surrounding area

Galway City 79,934
Tallaght 76,119
Tallaght has a single Garda station.
It could be a separate city.
Oops
