A vet who was convicted of trafficking a powerful horse sedative in his native Romania has been allowed to continue to practise in Ireland after the High Court refused to strike him off the register.

Valentin Ciobanu was working as a vet in his home country when he received a three-year suspended sentence in 2013 for supplying ketamine for sale on the black market.
